Beach Club rooms question

Does anyone know is all the standard rooms at BC have a day bed, or is that a request? I have a 15 yr old son and a 12 yr old daughter (small for her age) and they don't want to sleep together. I've seen room pictures of the resort and it looked like some might not have the day bed. Thanks!

Yes, there is a daybed, but it is not large - like the usual daybed size but a smaller version. when we stayed there it was 2 ad, 17 yr, 4&5 yr olds. The 17 yr old used the daybed. Not a big kid, maybe 135 and 5'6". I found BC rooms small though (although there are loads of folks who love BC on this board!). 380 sq ft as oppsoed to CR, Poly and GF rooms all larger. I would hesitate to stay there again. Not crazy about the layout of the resort, but love the walk to EPCOT!

Be careful when asking for a full balcony if it is a standard room. Some overlook a rooftop with white gravel and it's awful.

That sounds good, we just got back from the Boardwalk and liked it and loved the walk to Epcot and MGM, but wanted to try something different. My daughter slept on the daybed there and found it sufficient, (she was jealous that our son got the queen bed every night, but he's also 5'6'' and she's only 4'10"). So I really was hoping for the daybed again.

You are correct SOME do not have daybeds in them...

There are a small handful of rooms at BC that have just 2 queen beds... While odds Are that you would not get one because there really are only a few the possibility is there. Make sure you request it (and maybe just mention it again at check in).

Thanks Libertybelle, I thought I had seen pictures without them. Do you know if the Yacht Club standard rooms are the same way or do they all have daybeds?

We also needed a room with daybed two visits ago. We requested it twice prior to check in and didn't get it. we had to change rooms after the first night when a room with day bed became available. I believe the YC and BC rooms are very similar, some rooms have DB's some don't. I think the main diff between the two resorts is that all the YC rooms have balconies. I think.....Maggie

We got a free upgrade from a standard view to a Jr. Suite in Nov 04 and it included 2 queen beds and a day bed.

Can you see Illuminations at all from the Deluxe room balcony or does the other wing of the building block the view?

You could not see Illuminations because of the other wing of the building. This didn't bother us because Epcot is only a 10 minute walk.

I'm staying in a Deluxe room in a few more weeks and I can't wait!

We just returned from BC and the day bed was too small for my 18 yr old. That meant he had to go into the queen bed. My other DS age 16 took the daybed. It was almost too small. We got a roll away for my DD (age 12). It was crowded but we all had our sleeping places.

I always try to warn folks about the BC rooms size and daybed size, but no one seems to believe me! The rooms are not much larger than CBR (340 vs 380 sq ft) and much smaller than the Poly, CR & GF rooms. BC/YC rooms are a tight squeeze for a family with teens imho
