Hi all!! We will be going to the BC for the first time on July 4th and I'm guessing that renovations will still be going on. Any suggestions for a room request? :confused3

:thanks: :disrocks:

BCV doesn't have much of a view. Pool view is the only view that we request.

You might end up above Epcot Resorts Blvd looking through trees towards Epcot.
You might get the courtyard view looking at the BC building and the bus drop off area.
There is a woods/swamp view.
And the pool view.

I feel like there should be a sticky note somewhere that says "Bill says pool view- Gillian says Epcot"-lol.

We personally like the Epcot view if you can get it- it isn't even an option but you can call and ask. We had 4th floor Epcot view and had a direct view of the ball with the fireworks to the right at night. We liked it. Most complain about road noise as there is a service road there- maybe we didn't hear as much b/c we were higher up. We are going again this May/June and I just called and requested it- I'm hoping for a little more to the right and 5th floor.

When I get around to it I will post the pictures of our Epcot view from our last trip.

Problem with the "Epcot" view is if you don't get a high floor your view is obstructed and you will hear the road noise.

With the pool view, no matter which floor you get, you will see the pool.

It's true but I'm always willing to take that chance so I can see my young son staring at the great ball in awe. I'm am not a fan of a pool view- guaranteed no privacy and, IMHO, I'm not a fan of viewing people running around in their swimsuits- most of those "views" are not very pleasant.

So you have seen me at the pool! :-)

Ok, I think you two need to go on a split vacation together with half of it with the pool view and half with the Epcot view and you can both make your case for the view you like!! :hyper2:

But this bickering isn't helping me make a decision!!! :lmao:

LOL- Sorry rescuetink! It's just this question has come up a lot lately and Bill and I always seem to put in our two cents. Honestly it seems like most people opt for the pool view. There are a handful of us that love the idea of seeing the ball so we go for that but I think we may be the minority.

If you don't mind (or even like:upsidedow) a view of a pool then go for the pool view b/c you should have a very high chance of getting it. I think the ball view is great but there is a smaller likelihood of it and you could get a lower floor, closer to the road, that is pretty much a "woods" view which you may not like b/c of the increased road noise.

Have fun!

Any suggestions on which floor then? I've read that the 4th floor has already completed the renovations and would be the updated room!! I'm not sure what other floors would be a good option otherwise!!

Thanks for your help and input!!

Check out the two links below as they are VERY helpful- the 4th and 5th are the best if you are trying for an Epcot view- or really just trying to get away from road noise. We have a one bedroom this May/June and I'm crossing my fingers for room 557. They say to never request a room number so I asked for the highest floor facing Epcot. I always call to make this request.

If you are leaning towards the pool I'm not sure what is best other than including you want to be close to an elevator as I don't think that would diminish your view and will lessen your walk.

I just noticed, if you ask for a pool view then that's the Villa's Pool view... correct?

I'm kinda leaning towards a 5th floor Epcot view, but I'm concerned about the rooms being renovated at that time!!

The only pool that you can see from the DVC building is the small DVC pool. The BCV is behind the BC and the BC buildings block the lake and main pool view.

If you request a high floor and get the 1st floor will that be a problem?

From what your all telling me, yes, that would be a problem!! Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh, and how soon before you travel can you call and put in a request?

We always request a pool view...just our preference. I always noticed some PV rooms had a larger balcony so last time I requested a large balcony. We were over on the garden side but the balcony ran the whole length of the 2 BR unit and then had a large sunning area at the end. This will be my preference from now on.

We were in 457 which overlooks the service road. It was very noisy pretty much all day long
Would not recommend it

What kind of Room.....studio/1br/2br? We've always had Pool View and prefer that. Friends had an epcot view. 5th floor so you could see but I still liked the pool view. We were room 566 and it had an EXTRA large Balcony. Our friends hung out on our balcony with drinks that night because we had the space. The downside was the elevators on the other side of the wall behind our bed. We could hear the elevators moving all day

We will have a 1 BR for this trip!! :earboy2:

We never requested a view before, but next time we might ask for "near an elevator" ;) We were there a couple of weeks ago and we were closer to the parking lot than the elevator.
