We're going during Thanksgiving and the resort is totally booked! We have a standard view booked and I have no idea what kind of request I can make so we're not overlooking the parking lot. Does anyone know any good standard view rooms? I think there are some partial waterviews that are still considered standard.

Thanks in advance

The view we had can be summed up in one word-HORRENDOUS. A parking lot would have been a HUGE improvement.

We were overlooking a large roof. Just flat , gravel with pipes sticking up. It was even with our full balcony (which we obviously didn't need) and I could have climbed over my railing and walked around on it. Needless to say, we kept the curtains CLOSED.There were MANY rooms with this view-UGH!!!!

I wish I could be more postitive for your sake. Maybe someone else had a better experience.

Other than that, we LOVED the BC!!!

Here's a thought: If you request a first floor, you could not possibly look at a roof.

I was just about to tell you about the same kind of standard view room. I would call ahead and be sure to request either a first fl room or step out balcony. We requested a full balcony and got the same as the above poster. it was AWFUL! We immediately requested a room change and did get that - but it would be near impossible if the resort is full.

They moved us to a step out balcony, kind of over looking the volley ball court, which I've since been told is not really a standard view. It was far better than the first room, as it faced the other rooms, grass, sand - it was pretty. Very close to the walkway to EPCOT, long walk from the Lobby & bus. We did not mind that though.

I would not stay at the BC again because I would not want to worry about another room over the gravel roof. AWFUL!!!

The only thing I liked about BC was being able to walk to EPCOT. Rooms were smallish (we were used to Poly and CR) and the CM's were rather stiff and formal. This was back in 1998, so maybe things are different now :)

Hope you get a nice view!!

supamaki:

www.disneyzone.net shows floor layouts of the Beach Club. I'm not sure how old these are as far as the type of view.

Hope this helps.

We just came back from our BC/Magic stay and we made reservations last year for a standard room through AAA. When we arrived we got a jr. suite room 2557. We stayed at the BC before and I will tell you this had to be the best room I have seen. Very large with 2 Queen size beds, a day bed, double sink, and a full size balcony over looking quiet cove pool.

So, it sounds like the best idea is to request either a step-out balcony or a first floor room.

Another question, can you request a waterview even though you are booked in a standard room.

You have to watch out about the balconies because there are different sizes. Some of the you can walk out on but barely have enough room to turn around. Make sure you ask for a full balcone with chairs and a table.

You can try and ask but I think it depends on if they have any rooms free for the nights you will be staying.
