Beach Club room preferences?

I'm so excited to say that we were able to book a one bedroom villa at Beach Club at our 7 month window opening! Now, what can you all tell me about the resort? Any room preferences to know about? We definitely prefer quiet. Where is a good spot to watch fireworks? How is the food? We prefer quick-service, especially since we'll have a kid with us. Not a little kid, but still not taking him to the Yachtsmen. He won't appreciate it. LOL! Any info you can give is welcome. We're all very excited for the amazing pools! Thanks!

I'm assuming, since you posted on the DVC resorts page, that you're at BCV. Regarding your room requests, you might want to ask for a large balcony. One time, in a 1 BR, we got two separate, very tiny balconies. The area we were in was very quiet (the "jog" about 1/2 way down the hall, facing the woods). For CS, although there's BC Marketplace, I find a MUCH better selection at the Ale and Compass Marketplace, a short walk over to the Yacht Club.

Thank you! Yes, we booked in the DVC villas.

One of, if not the biggest knocks on BCV is a lack of views from the rooms. I tend to agree with this assessment, which makes me agree with PP...big balcony.
I do prefer a higher floor as well.

So unless you have a need to be near the elevator, that is what I would go with.

As for fireworks, unless its an issue, its a short walk to international gateway, of course, who knows what the EPCOT show will be at that point in time. It does not seem that the temporary replacement to Illuminations is particularly exciting (but I hope I am wrong)

I like quiet and always ask for quiet pool view, upper floor. Never been disappointed.

The bridge between UK & France has a good view of Illuminations (hopefully the new show as well) and it's a quick walk back to your room.

We like Picabu (in the Dolphin) for quick service.

Thanks, I'll plan on trying Picabu on the next trip. Can you please tell me exactly how to locate it once I get into the Dolphin (I assume the Dolphin is the one WITHOUT Dolphins on the outside).

Make a left after entering the Dolphin. Go past The Fountain and Fresh Mediterranean Market and it's in the back of the hotel. The Dolphin has dolphins on the roof; the Swan has swans. The Dolphin is the taller of the two hotels.

Thanks! That's my "mission" on my next BCV trip. In all my trips to BCV, 15-20, I've never been to Picabu. I looked at the menu-hopefully, they have more, but if not, that's OK.

No, those ARE dolphin fish on the top of the resort. Dolphin fish is another name for Mahi-mahi.

You could ask for a view of the quiet pool if you do not want to be seeing only trees/ bushes which are views from some of the rooms, especially if you are on a lower level. I agree that a higher floor with a larger balcony is more ideal.

We were in a 2BR in 2006 on the 4th floor (room 442, I believe). Our balcony faced EPCOT and we had a great view of Spaceship Earth and other buildings as well as a fireworks view. We watched the Army Black Knight parachute team practice jumping into EPCOT one morning as well. Pretty cool, and a medium walk from the elevators.

I think that the views at BCV are the biggest concession you make to having a resort that is so perfectly located. I've had views of the highway that were not great, but I don't spend a lot of time in the room and even then, its relatively quiet. I've also yet to have a room where you can see fireworks but it's never a long walk to get to a spot where you can.
I prefer upper level room for the privacy, as it's not like you can walk out the back door onto the walking path anyway (at least, I wouldn't want to hop all that landscaping). I agree that getting a large balcony is nice.
Ale and Compass has an AWESOME breakfast (2nd only to Kona, I think). And their lunch and dinner is nice too.
Of course Beaches and Cream is fun for kids, and they do offer a quick service counter.

BCV is our home resort so we have stayed in many areas. Favorite would either be higher floor with view of quiet pool and if possible, close to the elevator so that it's a quick walk to the main building. As for quick food choices, it's worth the walk over to the Yacht Club for their Marketplace, much better selection. Also, Beaches and Cream near the Beach Club pool is fun.

Also, what I love is that you can get to Beaches and Cream without getting wet, even if it's raining. A big plus to me!

Hi. I am booked at BCVs for next week.

Is there an area I can request that I would see the area where people walk to Epcot and the lake or is that the YC area? Thanks.

I always request highest floor, woods view. I don't care to see/hear the quiet pool activities when I'm on my balcony. I like the quiet of the woods view so I can read, surf the net, or just hang out.

BCV does not really have any view of the lake. It's tucked away behind the regular resort. The pink line in image below is the general route to Epcot from BCV.

BCV was built on the old CM parking lot behind the BC. So the views are usually little or nothing.

Thank you both very much and for taking the time for the map. Is there another view other than woods? Is there a pool view I can request?

I really rather see something other than trees.

Thanks.

You can request a pool view at the Villa's. If you look at the map you'll see there is a quiet pool on the other side of the building. It's a very nice area. The resort is beautiful at night.
