Hi everyone,

I"ll be staying in a garden/woods-view room at BC in January 2018 with my mom and dad. My dad's health isn't great and he might be spending a lot of time in the room. We want him to be as comfy as possible, and we're hoping he'll have a decent chair to sit-in (to relax, watch TV, etc) vs. having to lie in bed.

Having said that, any recommendations out there re: the best room configuration to request? I"m totally fine with sleeping on a pull-out. I understand there are rooms w/ one queen and then a pull-put chair and/or couch- is that right?

I'd also really appreciate any photos of the various room set-ups (I'm having a surprisingly hard time finding these online).

Thank you!

This was garden view room 3520. No comfortable chair or sofa.

This is room 2579, also garden view. 2 queens and it has a sofa but as you can see it's not set up for a view of the tv.

Yes, there are garden/woods view rooms with 1 Queen Bed and 1 Twin-Size Sleeper Chair and 1 Day Bed. I would call and have that request placed on your reservation. The daybeds in the rooms are quite comfortable (IMHO), so you could probably sleep on that and just keep the sleeper chair unfolded so your dad can sit on that. Requests are not guaranteed though.

If you want to guarantee a queen bed and a queen pull-out, you could look into booking a studio at BCV instead.

There are also plenty of places around the resort to sit too, if he wants to bring a book, newspaper, kindle, laptop, or other entertainment option of his choice. The lobby is sometimes a little loud, though not during the day. The Solarium would be a great place to relax that isn't the room. Before 5:30 when the Lounge opens, Martha's Vineyard is another option.

Good idea - also maybe walk over to YC, their lobby is really quiet with some very comfy seating.

Thanks so much to all for the helpful info and suggestions!

In the end, we decided to really splurge and switch to a one-bedroom villa (at BCV), given the circumstances. As noted above, the standard room configuration w/ two queens doesn't seem great for extensive lounging in the room, and since room requests aren't guaranteed, we don't want to chance it. We did look into studios, but they look a little cramped (although the configuration is much better).

Thanks again, looking forward to our trip : - ).

Funny, I was going to suggest a 1 BR suite on the resort side (I can post pics if helpful) but the 1BR villa will likely do the trick too. Hope you have a great family trip!

The villa also saves you that extra adult charge too. Not the biggest deal in the world, but annoying on principle.

And you get in room laundry as well, which is extremely convenient!
