Hi all! I am very new here...but visited a week or so ago to ask questions about our upcoming stay at the Beach Club.....well......we had to postpone it because our son (who's birthday we were gonna celebrate there) ended up in the ER last nite with a coughing/asthma attack!

Halloween nite we all got a 24 hr stomach bug that DESTROYED us....you couldn't believe it! 24 hrs seemed like an eternity! By Thursday I had my youngest back in the pediatrician's office...we were good to go....but wouldn't ya know...Thursday nite...we are in the ER till 3 am with our older son (7 tomorrow!)

It's been a HECK of a week...I haven't looked in a mirror in about 5 days...don't want to either!

It's so tough tellin' kids that all this Disney planning is down the tubes...but they are so understanding!

Luckily Disney just let me modify my reservations, as not to charge me as a no show!! I told them I would fax them the ER papers....oh well :confused3

We hope to get there in 2 weeks....definitely not next week because of Veterans' Day and Soap Opera stuff...

Wish us luck!

I hope your DS is feeling better. We had to cancel a trip this past May in similar circumstances and then couldn't find a good time to re-schedule, so I am so happy for you that you will still get to go to the World soon after all.

Disney was, thankfully, so accommodating to us about it too. GS suggested the same thing - re-scheduling for another date to avoid the charges.

We also have had some family emergency going on lately and it is good to know Disney is so accomidating! Hope everything is good for your trip and that DS is feeling better!

I hope your family is feeling better. I am sorry you had to postpone.

I hope you have a great trip when you go.

Anniebell, dont feel bad you are NOT alone. I was supposed to honeymoon mid-sept, and guess what? My dog gets hit by a car 2 nights before we are to leave, then my wife gets sick the day after from all the stress. Dog was in the hospital for 3 days, we didnt feel comfortable leaving with all of the bad luck and having in-laws have to nurture a very sick dog, so we postponed.

NOw we are staying 6 days longer (16 days total), and having something great to look forward to. Sometimes fate just doesnt allow your plans to work, keep you head up, the anticipation of going there is half of the fun :wave2:

I am so sorry to hear that! Thanks for your words of encouragement! It's so funny how you mentioned "bad luck". Our week before this trip started off that way...flat tire...more vehicle troubles....then comes Halloween and the tummy bug thing...GROSS!! Then my son ends up in the ER! I feel a "taboo" on this trip as well....

We think we might not do the Beach Club and start off fresh...I have a better feeling about that!

So disappointing you had to cancel, but so glad everyone's health is back on track. The next two weeks should go by fast....at least I hope they do for you. I'm sure this will be one vacation that is really, really appreciated! Have a wonderful time when you get to WDW! :)

Here is some pixie dust in hopes that you will be able to have a magical time sometime soon.

Glad to hear that you are still getting to go. You can still celebrate his birthday there :goodvibes be sure to go to Guest Services at each of the Parks & Down Town Disney to get him his birthday buttons. MGM & the MK have the same button so you may want to skip one. You can just explain what happend. If you take him out to eat, be sure to tell the CM's there too. They will do something special for him. My daughter's birthday was Oct 28th. She planned on having her party, she was getting balloons from friends at school.. well Wilma saw to it that all didn't go as planned. We had to evacuate, schools were closed. She was no where near any of her friends. We went to my Mom's in North FL. My mom suggested that I take her to Disney for her actual birthday since her plans were "washed out" :umbrella: . I called up one of her friends, she managed to get a ride up to Disney & meet us there. We went to eat at the Sci-Fi. My older daugther told our server it was her sister's birthday... they came out with her ice cream after our lunch. it had a candle in it. They had her stand up in the car & then told everyone in the place to wish her a happy 13th birthday. She was so happy . We got some really great pics.. but then I hit the wrong button on the camera after we left & wiped them all out :guilty:
Wish your son happy birthday for me & go enjoy a belated birthday treat... :goodvibes

Hi it's me again! :wave2:

Well, it's a good thing we didn't make it to Disney...THE VERY NEXT NIGHT WE WERE IN THE ER WITH OUR OTHER SON!!!!

Earlier in the week he and I both had a terrible stomach virus..and he was still having terrible pains (he is only 4) He was screaming from the pains and would curl in a fetal position! Of course it's Friday nite and no pediatrician open, so back to the ER we went!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear, I couldn't make this stuff up! This week has done us all in! We waited in the ER from 7pm..and didn't get home till midnight!

By the way, as it always is, our son was FINE while we were there

But they took XRays to check for blockage....and it turns out he is just having residual gastro blah blah pains from the virus...his little tummy is working overtime!

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all for your well wishes! I know it could be much worse! Still don't know when we will make it back to Disney, but I don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling about the Beach Club anymore (considering that it wasn't my first choice, I changed our reservations, and after that.....all this mess!)

Thanks everyone!!! :flower:
