Talk to me about Beach Club. I have a standard room booked. When I did my online checkin I requested upper floor with large balcony. What will I likely have a view of? I'm hoping to be able to see some of the Epcot fireworks from the balcony, although I'm not sure I will ever be in the room at that time. Also, do all the rooms with large balconies have the day bed? So far, my room has 3 but I may be adding a 4th for one of the nights, and since it's a male friend of mine, sharing a room with my parents, they will want him to sleep in a different bed than mine. lol

A standard view is a view of a parking lot or a roof.

About 50% of the rooms have a full balcony. No, not all rooms have daybeds. People with five on their reservation get the rooms with daybeds first and then what's left is randomly given out.

Also, if you add your adult friend to the reservation, it will be an additional $25 per night more. They charge $25 per night per adult over two adults in the room at the YC and BC and other resorts too. Not sure of the reasoning since you can have two adults and three teenagers and it doesn't cost any more.

The standard rooms aren't going to look out toward EPCOT, unless you get real lucky and can look down the building toward that direction and catch a sliver of sky. You'll do better to walk down to the beach area or to the bridge on the walkway toward Boardwalk.

Remember, only part of IllumiNations has fireworks, a lot is at lagoon level.

Because of the shape of the hotel you could be facing different directions. I'm thinking you'd have to book lagoon view to see the Epcot fireworks. We had a standard CL room and actually saw the MK fireworks at night which are the opposite direction as Epcot.

Like pp said only half the rooms have a balcony. We made that our only request and did get one. They do not all have daybeds and you may need to decide which is more important and make a request for which you prefer. We went as a party of 6 in May (5+ an infant) and did not get a daybed. They were going to move us but were too full and had no other daybed rooms available. Instead we got a rollaway that folds up during the day. ODS slept in it and found it quite comfy.
