Hi Everyone!
I'm surprising my husband with a mini vacation in January for Christmas. I just booked a DVC studio at the Beach Club. I have never stayed here before. Are there any requests I should make for rooms or views etc.? Thanks!

We just stayed in a studio there and I had heard there really arent any 'great' views in the DVC section. We faced some greenery with a road behind it lol

I would only indicate if you prefer a 1st floor room or higher up room.

As others have noted there really aren't any great or poor rooms at BCV. About the only thing to consider is if you want a lower or upper floor; and near or away from the elevator. If none of those are important to you then don't bother with a request.

Sorry to highjack this thread but ok to ask a question?

Besides price what is the diff. between a Beach club studio and DVC studio? At first I booked DVC then the price was nuts so changed to straight BC.

Anyone have pix of both? I will also look on the photo section of the boards.

TIA Linda

A regular Beach Club room (they don't call it a studio) will have 2 queens and possibly a daybed, a small refrigerator. A Beach Club Villa studio (DVC) will have 1 queen bed and a double pullout sofa, small refrigerator, toaster, microwave. Both have coffeemakers.

There are no "studio" rooms in regular BC Resort. What you priced was most likely a standard room. The studios are only on the DVC side. In the BC rooms you get 2 queens & sometimes a daybed, coffee maker & small fridge. In the DVC studio you get 1 queen & a sleeper sofa, plus a very small kitchenette with coffe maker, fridge, sink & microwave.

Room sizes are the same, just slightly different sleeping arrangements & kitchen ammenities. The decor is different as well - the BC rooms have darker colors, stripes & seem a bit newer, the DVC studios have plaid & lighter colors.

I just went through the same thing, the price was identical for either for my dates. We chose the studio just based on decor of the room, and having the microwave.

I stayed at a regular BC room with 2 queens and a day bed it was perfect for 5 !! We had 3 teens , myself and my sister for my daughters sweet 16 .. The day bed was comfortable enough that they faught over who was going to sleep on it !! LOL ... WE had a water view room and it was great !! Have fun .. Going with just hubby to the AKL in January and I cant wait to try the rooms there !! :cool1:

I haven't made any requests for my last two BCV visits. For the studio, I was given a first floor room about three doors down from the "lobby" area - very convenient - with a view of the quiet pool. For the one bedroom stay, I was on the second floor right next to the pool elevator, that had a huge balcony overlooking the quiet pool. Both were very convenient rooms and decent views, since there aren't many views to choose from.

Last trip we stayed at BC & my friend stayed in BCV studio. She had a nice view of the quiet pool.

We stayed there a few years ago. Loved the studio with the microwave and larger refrig. Could have snacks, bagels, yogurt, and waters in the refrig with plenty of room. Surprising how much you can get in the undercounter ones. Our studio faced the Villas quiet pool. With that you also get to see the parking lot. Oh well. The location to Epcot is wonderful. Nice to sneak in the back side in a quick walk. We would go over to Norway or France to get an evening snack some nites from their bakeries. Or grab a quick drink in one of the countries. Couldn't see the fireworks from there but you can go to the front of BC and see them from the boardwalk.

Enjoy!

There are pictures of the regular BC rooms and all three types of DVC rooms (Studio, 1 BR and 2 BR) on Page 1 of the FAQ thread. You can get there by clicking on the link in my signature. There is a BC section (maybe post 5 or 6), then the Villa post is a couple after that one.
