Am I understanding correctly that the Beach Club does NOT have a quick service/counter service restaurant? Does the Yacht Club? We like quick service for breakfast, and this may change our resort selection....

Thanks!

The Beach Club has a CS. I don't think the Yacht Club does, however.

You are correct. No, no QS at YC either. The closest "traditional" CS to BC is Picabu at the Dolphin hotel. (Or you could go over to Epcot-but not much for breakfast there.) There are some very limited items at the Marketplace at BC, or Hurricane Hannas (by the pool) but not much. That is something I've wondered a lot about after staying at BCV in Feb. There are more places to eat in the Boardwalk/Epcot area by far than anywhere else on property--but, other than Epcot (which you need to use a park ticket day to get into) it's all TS or small snacks. If you want a meal, you need an ADR or be ready for a loong wait.

Hmm... so no Mickey waffles or pancakes and bacon, huh? I was afraid of that. That won't work for the kids, who spend all year looking forward to those waffles. That changes things for us. Thanks for your help!

Hurricane Hannahs (stormalong bay) has burgers, wraps, fries, drinks, etc. The Mercantile has sandwiches, muffins, danish, breakfast sandwiches. So yes, both Yacht and Beach have your basic QS. I loved the breakfast items at the BC store!

lol, we posted at the same time!
They do have Mickey waffles at the BC but it's not QS, it's Cape May Cafe character breakfast.

But does it work for mom and dad who are footing the bill? ;) BC is a fun resort if your family likes to spend time at the pool.

I just booked BC for us this morning and I'm concerned about that too. Sounds silly but my kids (and DH) are all big breakfast eaters and look forward to it each day on vacation.

When I booked I asked if they had counter service for bfast and the CM said yes, but looking at this menu it looks very limited. We were able to get Mickey waffles for kids at AKL and WL, so I assumed the same here.

Hmmm...

You can eat at the Captain's Grille at the YC. It is a TS meal, but would be pretty quick. There is a buffet (no characters) or you can order off the menu. We found the buffet to be wonderful! They had Mickey waffles, eggs benedict, and will make eggs to order even if you get the buffet.

Sunshine Seasons in the Land in Epcot has breakfast. There is the Boardwalk Bakery, too, but you'd have to check their breakfast menu.

CL is also an option. There are no hot options (except oatmeal), but you do get a continental breakfast included in the room rate. (and snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, beer, wine, hot appetizers, and desserts)

Have a fun trip! We really love the BC and have stayed there twice.

CS is very limited at both BC & YC. Last summer, Beaches & Cream tested a quick serve b/fast. People posted it was nice.:thumbsup2 They haven't had it again since.:guilty:

It's such a shame. Guess they figure Bdwalk, Epcot, etc is close. However, it takes a long time in the am when you just want to grab something close.

Agree w/ PP that Captain's Grill at Yacht Club's breakfast buffet is quick and cheap for TS. It's where we got our Mickey waffle/bacon fix this trip.

The Marketplace has increased it's breakfast offerings just recently. They have hot oatmeal and also french toast. They have breakfast sandwiches and have increased big time the pastry and muffin selections. They also have cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc.

Stayed at the BC last October and this was the only drawback, lack of CS meals, especially breakfast. We loved the resort other than that.

I believe what she is saying is that this change JUST happened, so those of you accustomed to the limited offerings may be unaware of the larger selections available now. The brand new menu has NOT been updated on the websites that post the various menus.

I overlooked Captains Grill at YC, assuming you would need an ADR to be seated quickly (ala QS restaurant). The buffet looks good, but is still pricey for an "everyday place" to grab breakfast, even if you can get seated quickly. But the other items on their menu look reasonably priced (or at least closer to QS prices) --- but don't forget to add the tip...TS simply adds up ($$$ and time).

? re: BC Marketplace . . . this is the counter, with a bakery style display case, located right inside the resort shop, right? So you have to carry your meal purchases back to your room, or find someplace else (can you eat in that community room where they play movies?) as there are no dedicated tables, or am I missing something? (We only stayed at BC once for just a few nights, so I am not an "expert" on this resort :confused3) I think a true QS/CS "restaurant" (ala Mara at AKL or Old Port Royale at CB, as opposed to a pick-up and go only place) would make this area perfect!!

At the Marketplace, they have tables and chairs right in there and also tables and chairs outside (across from the Marketplace). They also have tables and chairs in the Solarium and people take their food in there alot to eat.

Yes, there's no traditional qs place but the solarium is beautiful and just down the hall from the marketplace. We've never considered this a big drawback.

Do the kids typcially get a big breakfast each day? If not, you could order mickey waffles from room service maybe? (not sure they have them, but I would guess they would). When we stay at BC/YC we always walk over to boardwalk bakery for a quick breakfast...muffins, pastries, etc. My kids aren't big breakfast eaters though.

Breakfast is the single biggest meal of their day, so a hearty breakfast is a must for them.

To make sure I understand-- I can get breakfast sandwiches, french toast, oatmeal, or muffins/pastries at the Marketplace. If I want a more traditional pancakes-and-eggs type meal, I have to do a table service at Captain's Grill or Cape May. Does that about sum it up?

Seems odd that a deluxe resort wouldn't have a good QS option (i.e., Captain Cook's, Roaring Forks). Huh. I wonder why that is.

Thanks for your help, everyone!
