Does anyone know the hours for these pools? We enjoy late night swims!

thanks :wave2:

Can't remember the exact times... but I have seen swimmers past the "closing" time. I never saw quiet ones run off.

SAB closes from 8pm to 10pm depending on the season.

The official hours for the quiet pool is closed at 10pm or midnight. As stated some have been in their later but if noisey Security has and can ask you to leave.

So then, is it okay to be in SAB past closing time? Or, is "closing time" just when the lifeguards are off and it is quiet time?

Thanks! :listen:

no one allowed in SAB after it closes, they put up ropes over the steps and security will definitely run you out of it. Only the quiet pool is open.

I thought SAB closed earlier than 8 in the winter. :confused3 Maybe that has changed over the years.

I've never seen any hours posted for the BCV pool. Where is it posted, Sammie or denecarter? Thanks.

We were there the week after Easter and I saw that SAB was closed EARLY...it could have been 8, but I thought it was even earlier. There were ALOT of functions that week along the beach area and maybe that caused them to close SAB early. The quiet pool or the villa pool was open it seems all the time. It isn't guarded.

Find the sign with the pool rules (often near the hot tub)... it will have the hours. :sunny:

As stated there is a very large sign at the end of the pool closest to the villas and the parking lot with pool rules and the hours.

SAB could close earlier in the winter, 8pm to 10-pm is usually the time but it could certainly vary.

We have stayed at BCV in a pool view room and there have been people in the pool after midnight. We heard the guard tell them as long as they kept it quiet that they could stay.

That is great that the guard was being vigilant.

I thought denecarter's advice about the sign was a generic comment. Being a rule follower myself, I have read the sign at BCV and don't recall hours being posted. Perhaps the sign has changed or maybe I've forgotten. :lmao: My troops are usually afternoon swimmers or on occasion a quick dip in the early evening so it doesn't affect us. But I thought there were no hours for the BCV pool....swim at your own risk of course at all times. I do know there are no hours posted in the Y&BC/BCV newsletter.

My concern about swimming late at the Dunes Cove Pool (BCV QP), is the pool lights are turned out around 11pm.
Not sure what the posted hours are, but when we stayed there 12 nights last June and December, we had pool view both times and the lights definitely are turned off.
There were still people swimming (a couple of teenagers), but I dont think they intend for people to swim or they would leave the lights on so you can see the bottom of the pool.

SAB closes completely down and there is no unguarded swimming allowed period.

On several days of our trips, SAB closed as early as 6pm during the week. I asked the Rec Mgr. about the short pool hours and how SAB is not available after the parks close, even when MK closes early. Even in late May/June over Memorial Day weekend, I thought SAB closed too early. They did say they were short lifeguards and it was much harder to guard at night, which I do understand.

We like to swim late, and that is why after last year, we decided to limit our stays at BCV to a few days to enjoy SAB and then move to SSR, which is our favorite place to swim at night, followed by VWL.

We had a 'war" with management during our stay the last week of Aug 05. The info was the SAB was suppose to be open until 10pm, then magically one day they just started closing it at 8pm. This was bad for us, as we would come back from the parks and want to use it, but couldn't. there was no warning, nothing in brochures or on websites that we could find. When confronted about it. They said "winter hours" WINTER in AUGUST! I never knew..guess Fl has 2 seasons summer and winter.
Despite my fit pitching(as the only reason i chose BCV was that pool) I lost. No 'I am sorry" and no open pool. I think, we got to use the pool a grand 2 times duirng our 8 night stay.
The quiet pools were BUSY at night and far from the word quiet. We used them once I think. They weren't worth using again. Our theory was they were so busy because the big pool had closed too early.
Anyways, just be aware pool hours are subject to whims

OK, that is scary to me. Swimming when you can't see the bottom is just dangerous.

We have only been on that side a few times and I'm usually fast asleep by 11pm so I had no idea. :earseek:

Exactly how I feel! VWL keeps their quiet pool lit all night, as does SSR. Not sure about BWV or OKW main/quiet pools.

Dunes Cove is dark, beside the hanging lights that outline the bldg. I think they may dim the overhead pool lights, but you can definitely not see bottom, because my Ds's were in the pool that late when the lights were turned off. I immediately realized I couldnt see bottom and had them exit the pool. The rooms of BCV are so close to the QP, I can see how loud pool activity would be disturbing to guests and is most likely the reason they turn the lights out to discourage swimming.
We then moved over to SSR for 13 nights, and we used the Congress Park QP every night. There was another family from Texas staying at SSR and we'd "accidentally" meet there every night, even after the 2am EMH @MK.
Totally different experience. SSR rooms are soundproofed and a further distance from the QP,s.
I know everyone vacations differently, but hanging out all day and swimming at night is a special treat for my Ds's and really says "we are on vacation!"
We love SAB, but we always have to allow time in our schedule to use it during the limited hours they have. We rarely get to use it more than twice a stay also.

I wish SAB would stay open later, too. We, too, were there last late August and the pool closed at 8:00 pm much to our dismay. This summer, we are going in July and my ds has asked if we could try SAB at night. Hopefully, it will be open until 10 the night we have dinner planned at Cape May Cafe. Fingers crossed! :sunny:
