I realize Stormalong Bay is shared by BC,YC,and BCV.My question is each of the quiet pools. Can we use the YC and/or BCV quiet pools when we stay at BC?

I have heard other people staying at other resorts coming into Storm a long. Is this true that other resort guest can and do use BC/YC pool?

My understanding is that only guests of BC/YC/BCV are allowed to use SAB.

Nope, not true at all. Only DVC members staying on points during periods of time when they are not blacked out from pool hopping are allowed to pool hop to other resorts. And they still can't use SAB or the AKL pool - at any time. Unless they are guests of that resort.

To keep people from other resorts from using SAB, they check your room key and issue wrist bands.

And in the two times we've stayed there over the past year they've been pretty adament about having all resort IDs presented. First time we hit the pool we only brought down one ID and they asked for future visits we bring all IDs.

I have watched them turn away some "gate crashers" so I know they make an effort to keep you out.

Luckily we did not have this happen to us the last time at BCV. While I understand why they might want this, I would never take ALL of my resort ID's to the pool. We spend almost 100% of our time IN the water, not sitting on chairs by our stuff. So if they were enforcing this, I would be forced to present all ID's, then take the trouble of going back to my room to put 3 of the 4 back. If I was a person that was going to give one of my ID"s to a "visiting friend" (hence why they would want to see all ID's at the same time, to prevent this), I could then just give my ID's to my friend anyway and in they come into the pool a little while later. So what's the point? Sure, it's more trouble, but if I really wanted to have a visitor at the pool, I'd be able to still do it at the expense of a little inconvenience.

Disclosure - I would NEVER use someone else's ID nor give one of my ID's to someone to get into a pool I/they don't belong in. I'm just saying that's probably the reason behind the insisting on all ID's.

What would be great is if they had a card reader like they do for EMH, but only have to present one room card, but have the ability to code in that say, 4 wristbands were taken for that room that day. That way I only have to take one key, and no one else could use my other keys to gain wristbands. :thumbsup2
