We are staying at the BCV next week but have family that is staying at the WL. Can they come to BC one afternoon for lunch and swim at the pool as our guests?

I'm afraid not. Everyone needs a key from one of those three resorts.

There is no pool hopping to Beach Club, but I believe you can go swim at their pool.

As long as the OP is a DVC member staying on points at the BCV.

Your guests are welcome to come and dine, but swimming will more than likely not be possible.

Doesn't really matter, does it, Bill?
Technically no but from an enforcement standpoint, only SAB will be policed. My guess is they all want to go to SAB though and as noted, that is not technically allow. One can always list them in the room or ask management for permission.

Although this is not permitted per pool hopping rules, there is a TR here that reports this was done in June. I'm not sure if they are more strict at some times, but we have always had to show our KTTW and then given a wristband to wear while enjoying SAB. No one checks KTTW at the quiet pool.

We stayed at BCV in May, and were never once asked to show our KTTW. :confused3

and we swam multiple times a day. Nor did I see CM's checking anybody's room card at any point during our stay.

So I'm confused, as to why I always see it posted that the SAB=BC & BCV guests only. It doesn't seem that this is actually enforced from my experience.

For our stay in late july we had to each show our room key each day and got a different color wristband for the day.

We visited 2 years ago in June and they were definitely giving out wristbands during the day only. In the evening, SAB wasn't crowded at all and IMO the wristbands weren't really needed. On this same visit, we were able to bring my ex & his then fiancee to SAB with us one day. We asked for permission from the lifeguards and told it was fine - they were given wristbands as well. It might have helped our cause that we only had 3 people in a room that would accommodate 5. If necessary, we could have just added them to our reservation and gotten them keys.

We visited again last August and they were also issuing wristbands. Again, it was very crowded and entirely necessary. It took me a lot of walking around to find ONE chair to put our stuff on.

As far as the OP is concerned, yes, the rules say no pool hopping, but there is a big difference between just randomly trying to get into other resort pools and visiting friends. And, of course, I think it depends how many people you are talking about as well. It never hurts to nicely ask; all they can do it tell you no.

Did you go toward the end of the afternoon? Sometimes when the pool isn't crowded, I notice that they stop checking then. We were there in June and every time we went to SAB every one of us needed our room key.

We've been to BCV many times and the only time we were never checked for wrist bands was an evening swim after 7pm. I have seen many people turned away though.

It really doesn't matter does it? All guests should be at the pool legally which means they are either booked into a qualifying Disney room, legal DVC pool hoppers or have permission of management.

No not at all. I was just comment to a PP who said they were not checking the KTTW cards at SAB and I have only noticed that late at night (just before the pool closes) not arguing about the validity of visitors/pool hopping etc.

OK, thanks for clarifying.

I was there last September before the F&W started and they checked everyone's key...including kids. We bought at BCV, just for SAB.

And we just had the poster who stated she was at the BWV pool as a registered guest, had left her KTTW card in the room as DH was resting in there, went swimming and was asked to leave the pool by a lifeguard when she could not produce her key. Though she tried to explain and provided her room number and name, she had to get out of the pool and leave. So you never know....
