Hi All, my wife and I have a trip booked for this coming July with our three kids 7, 4, and 1 and we still cannot decided on cooper creek or beach club. We are looking to stay in a one bedroom and both resorts are the same price. We have stayed at the wildernesses lodge multiple times throughout the years but haven’t stayed in the new villas yet. We enjoy the convenience of WL to the magic kingdom, quick service options and geyser point of course. However, we find ourselves continuing to look at beach club since we have never stayed here before. The pool of course looks amazing but is it too hectic and crowded for our little guys? No quick service that is decent but great location to the boardwalk and of course Epcot. What do you guys think? Switch to BCV or keep our CCV? Thanks for your help picking!!!

Those are our two favorite resorts and we have trouble picking which one, too. The main pool at the Yacht and Beach Club has a great shallow, sand bottom kids pool that the kids would probably play in all day if you let them. That area of the pool is not hectic at all as long as you keep all three kids together. There is also a small pool with slides for the young kids behind the Pirate slide. The counter service options are better at WL, though. Either resort would be great but you can't beat being able to walk into Epcot and DHS from the BC.

I enjoy wl for it’s convenience to mk and the food choices. I’d like to try the new character meal at wl. I think with younger kids I’d focus more on being closer to mk. I didn’t care for the atmosphere of BC but that’s just me.

We have done both CCV and BCV in the past year; our kiddos are 5 and 4. The rooms at CCV are gorgeous--much nicer than BCV. We loved being right on the lobby at CCV. The walk from BCV to the pool area was pretty far, but the quiet pool at the villas was okay. Our kiddos liked but didn't love SAB. They really liked the small pirate pool with the 2 little slides and the big, enclosed water slide. But we were running around a lot after them since you have to leave the pool area and cross the public sidewalk to get to all of the slides. It's also quite a hike up the stairs to the enclosed slide! They are both strong swimmers but felt overwhelmed in parts of SAB, especially the lazy river, which goes from 3 to 8 feet in depth and the current can be quick. It was also quite busy when were were there in March--the pool was packed by 10 am. Overall, they preferred the WL pools because they were able to have a "break from the big kids" per my 4 yo. BCV doesn't have a kid splash pad, which the kids liked to go to at WL and play with other kids their size. We also liked that we could relax in the pool and see them the entire time they went up on the WL slide versus having to get out of the pool and walk them over to the slides at BCV. We have a few more trips planned and will be going back to WL on one of them but our kiddos have asked to wait on SAB until they're older and bigger.

With children that age i woudl not choose BC if the kids waht it for the pool That pool is enormous, and I found it stressful to keep eyes on kids.

I really thought that it woudlbe fun but one there I was not as enthusiastic. My DGD was older thatn your children, so that may have made a difference, becuase she really liked the slide. I could not be in two places art once, so having her cross that "street" while I was in the pool was not fun for me.

I agree with this. Had the exact same experience.

Thank you so much, this was a huge help! WL it is!

I just went this past winter with a 4 and 6 year old to copper creek, and then this spring to BCV. We were in a 2 bedroom at CCV and a studio at BCV, so it's hard to compare actual rooms.
If I had the choice of either again, I would go back to BCV. The walk to and from Epcot was so nice, and the one to hollywood studios was fine as well.
As long as there is a 1 to 1 ratio of adults to children at the pool, just assign one parent to each kid and you're fine (ah, but I see you have a 1 to 1.5 ratio. A little trickier in that case.) Our kids had a good time at the Wilderness pool, and a great one at Storm Along Bay. The weather was very similar for both trips, too.

Isn't it great that this is the big decision you have to make?

We stayed at WL our first family trip (our daughters were 4 and 2) and we loved it! Our next trip we are staying at BCV (our daughters will be 11 and 9 and are good swimmers) and I'm looking forward to exploring the Crescent Lake area and Epcot. Our girls didn't have much of an appreciation for Epcot but I'm hoping they will be!

But there is still a part of me that would love to go back to WL. That place was fantastic!

Sounds like the OP has their answer, but I’ll just add one thought to summarize. BC is great for slightly older kids that are mostly self sufficient at the pool and are good with lounge chair supervision. For smaller kids, WL for sure.

Although BCV is one of my favorite pools, I agree that with children your children's ages, WL is a better setting. Will probably be too stressful at BCV. You can enjoy BCV when the kids are older. ENJOY!

I absolutely love the Epcot resorts but WL is our favorite. When we stayed at CCV last time we had some pixie dust applied. They upgraded us from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. It was only me and my wife. We had more room than we could possibly use but loved that we got the free upgrade. Concerning the pool, both are doable. Children need to be watched either way so I would choose the resort that most appealed to you. In my opinion you can’t go wrong with either resort.
