We are looking to change resorts at the 7 month window and DD is stuck between picking BCV and VWL , I am thinking I may have to cancel my cruise so we will be doing 8nights AKV, 7Nights BCV or VWL and then 3 nights SSR. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on BCV or VWL to help us out. I am thinking BCV would be best after AKV as it is completely different and more central so it will be like having two holidays however want to go with the one DD will like best and VWL looks great fun for kids?

Claire, I have to be honest and say I think you will find it hard to get a reservation at Beach Club anyway, given when you are going (if you are thinking about October) because of the F&WF. We stayed at VWL last April and my DS (5 at the time) absolutely loved it and is gutted we are not staying there this year. The boat over to MK was a highlight of the trip for him and you can't beat being able to watch Wishes from the beach as well as the Electrical Water Pageant. There is also the possibility of being chosen to be Flag Family, which would be a fantastic experience for you all.

Having said all that, the pool at the Beach club would be a big draw and probably one of the main reasons I want to stay there one day.

However, given the choice I would take VWL every time.

Thanks, I think then that the VWL will be the best choice for DD, I didn't know it had a beach - she will love that plus the boat ride to MK, she always asked to get the boat when we went to the Poly for dinner or drinks.

Claire, in all honesty I think your DD will love it. I will try to look out a couple of pictures of the beach and some others of VWL and post them here for you - it has a small play area on the beach also, with a slide and climbing frame :)

after staying at both last year , we loved both
we are heading back to the BCV kids choice
they loved the pool there
they are both very different resorts
we found the WLV very dark after staying in the BC

check out my report at the bottom of my signuter for some photos of both

As I have never stayed in either I had to narrow it down this way.

All you can eat skillet in Whispering Canyon - or The Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream.

The Kitchen Sink won.

Hope this helps :lmao:

Trust it to come down to food for you, but I know what you mean(Roll on May).

Although I am a DVC member of the BWV I would love to stay at BCV one of these days.

The themes and atmosphere are vastly different.

BCV: location (adjacent to Epcot, near Studios and Boardwalk), SAB - best pool complex on property, theme (early 20th century Mid-Atlantic "stick-style" seaside resort), great selection of restaurants from Studios to Epcot and the resorts in between

VWL: theme (early 1900s railroad workers' lodge, pre-dating the adjacent grand National Park Service lodge), very relaxing, boat ride to MK and you can enjoy a walk to Ft Wilderness, good restaurants at WL with Poly and Contemporary nearby, on the lake (views and boat rentals) and boat transportation

I now have booked 7 nights at Wilderness Lodge in a studio followed by 8 nights in AKV Jambo house studio Savannah View, just got to wait for the 25th now to book our last 3 nights at a different resort.
