Beach club or riviera

I am in the process of buying 2 contracts at BCV worth 370 points. we have stayed there 3 times over 6 years and back in July this year. we don't have the points for staying so we are cash room. we love being able to walk to 2 parks and the overall vibe of B&YC. Going from a normal room to a 2BR in 2024 will be great as we are a family of 5. If I price DVC for essentially 2 cash rooms over the next 19 years I am saving around $20k cash as wee stay for 2 weeks at a time sometimes 3 weeks lol.

BCV is an awesome property. I hope you are buying resale. :P

We bought 170 BCV contract at 160 pp with all 2021 and 2022 points and then another 30 point direct add on so we have 200 points total.
Our favorite resort is the BC/YC and have been visiting for the last 10 years every year.
We usually do 12 day stays in late August and when doing the math between cash rooms vs the remaining 20 years the savings was still 62%.
Disney won’t be offering discounts anywhere near that so it was worth it for us.
Once 2042 arrives, we’ll just purchase the Yacht Club when it’s eventually DVC’d in the next 5-10 years (which I do believe will happen) or BCV2 when it goes back on sale in 2042.
The assumption of renting is assuming you can find points to rent. We had a hard time doing so for years before we eventually purchased our contracts.

Very hard to get BCV if it's not your home resort. But at this point I would purchase RIV. You will need more RIV points for the two bedroom for a week - example RIV is 54 points more for a week in the summer in the two bedroom. In terms of the two bedroom I am finding the two bedrooms are harder to book at BCV than the studios. I think it's because they have the dedicated rooms and the proximity to epcot

We are trying lol. The first of 2 contracts away for ROFR so hoping that Disney let us have it at a great price. The second contract awaiting owner to sign contract so it can be sent to Disney for ROFR but they seem to be dragging their heels.

This is an interesting theory, but... The Conference Center.

If there was ever a reason to get rid of the Yacht Club (and Contemporary) convention center, it was Covid. These things are still going, and Disney still wants conferences. For this to work, they need a big cash hotel like Yacht Club.
