We are leaving in 2 weeks. My DH says three days ago, "Why are we staying at Ft. Wilderness? I didn't want to camp!" Can you tell he has begun tuning me out when I talk about Disney? LOL We are actually reserved in cabins, but I called this morning and reserved a room at Beach Club. We need to decide so I can call back and cancel one of the ressies. We have never stayed at either but I love the sound of the Beach Club. The main reason we wanted to stay at FW was for the campfire.

Which would you all do? Our second half of trip is at the Polynesian. Our kids are 10, 6, and 5 and love Epcot, MGM, and MK. They are not thrilled with Animal Kingdom. They also love to swim.

Any quick help would be appreciated! Thanks:)

The cabins are fine...if you have a car but if my only motivation was a campfire, that wouldn't do it for me. I absolutely love the location and the pool of the Beach Club so I personally would opt for the Beach Club. The only downside of Stormalong Bay, is, if your children have varying swimming abilities, it is hard to watch them all at once unless you separate.

The FW cabins are nice; it is nothing like camping (which I hate with a passion!). However, you do really need a car if you stay at FW.

If your children love swimming, GO WITH BC!!! Stormalong Bay is the absolute coolest swimming pool at Disney. It is huge with a major slide (you climb up a ship and slide above a walkway down to the pool!). Once you get in, you will never want to leave it.

BC offers a 5 minute WALK to Epcot; you can walk (much longer) or boat to MGM; buses to MK and AK are available, though shared with YC and often Swan/Dolphin. Easy walk to Boardwalk, too.

They will LOVE Cap May Cafe character breakfast -- Goofy, Chip and Dale and Minnie in beachwear. Beaches and Cream is also fun.

My vote (for whatever it counts) is GO WITH BC!!! You won't regret it.

Thanks for the votes...Beach Club it is! I think we will just head over to Ft. Wilderness one night and do the campfire, but after hearing your opinions and checking out Deb's site about both, kids and I decided Beach club looks awesome! And my DH will hopefully be happy, he's flying home tonight so I will be able to give him the good news that we will not be at Ft. Wilderness.

Thanks everyone!

Though I agree that Beach Club is the better and far more ideally located resort, I would leaan toward FW with 5 as you get a lot more space in the cabin. If that is not an issue then BC is the choice.

I agree with the other posters - if your kids love Epcot and MGM, definitely stay at the Beach Club! The swimming will be much better at Stormalong Bay, and much more conveniently located! Fort Wilderness is huge.

If you are doing the Poly after the Beach Club, I would wait to take a boat from the Poly over to Ft. Wilderness for the campfire - it is the most convenient way to get back and forth - the buses to/from Ft. Wilderness are really long!

Have a great trip!
