Beach Club or Boardwalk???

Strictly economics, if we get SV we get more vacations! We do stay at BCV for Epcot's flower show, have had no problems booking that right at 7 months. The Flower show is the only time that I am willing to pay extra points for an Epcot resort! BCV is closest to the Flower Power concerts, sometimes I/we're running over to catch the last show. I'm not a good time manager.

I just hope they don't raise the prices on resales too much before then. I've heard Saratoga prices were going up. Has anyone heard anything about resale prices?

For an idea on resale prices check out this thread

Anyone made it through (or not made it through) ROFR recently?

It keeps track of resales that Disney let go through and which they bought back currently they took a BCV back at 88 per point and passed on 91 per point BWV is a little less

I agree with LSchrow 15 years is a long time to give up and with the last discount friends and family or whatever it was it was cheaper at SSR than the resales. Also as great as the BWV is lets not forget they will come up with something better some day like the monorail DVC or perhaps DVC at sea of tranquility on the moon and you miss out because your timeshare expired plus you still can stay at the BWV or BCV just do a point swap or book at 7 months

All resorts (other than Saratoga Springs) end 2042. Saratoga Springs ends 2054. My math says 12 years. Maybe I'm nit-picking. 12 years - at a resort that you probably won't be able to increase your value on considering size and number of members not to mention location. Just look at the value of Vero Beach and Hilton Head. These boards verify that the location of Saratoga Springs is lousy and people hate the transportation. No demand, no value.

The older resorts are highly demanded. I just don't agree that Saratoga members will be able to trade in like you suggested. The owners of the smaller resorts aren't stupid. We'll just book ahead to insure we can stay there. How can a-gazillion owners at Saratoga Springs all expect to make ressies at Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge when they have so few DVC rooms? It's mathematically impossible.

As so many before me have posted: base your decision on location, location, location!

We bought in at SSR, and booked BCV for our trip in June. I guess if you plan to go during Summer months, it's no problem. Only going Holiday time would be the caveat there.
