Beach Club now overbooked

After 3 call and many txt msgs we have suite in BCV it does pay to be the squeaky wheel , thanks for all the help

Just so you are aware of what you have, you don't have a suite, you have a villa. Not sure whether they gave you a studio with one queen and one full sofa bed, or a one bedroom villa, with one queen bed and one sofa sleeper.

Hope you have a nice trip, sorry you had trouble with possibly getting bumped from the BC but like the previous poster said the BCV doesn't have suites that I'm aware of it consist of all villas (studios, one bedrooms, etc.) so you might want to check to be sure what you've been given as to avoid surprises when you arrive.

We're staying that same week in November at the Yacht Club club level. We paid over 5k. I hope they don't move us to another resort.

So Disney does this overbooking intentionally? How often does this occur? I see no excuse at all for doing this.
There's no way to know without access to Disney's records.
Several years ago people staying at value resorts at a popular time used to pretty routinely get bumped over to SSR and complain about it on DIS, it seemed to happen about the same time every year too - which seemed suspicious to me.
Around that time I listened to Disney's stock earnings call & the CFO (Russo?- forget the guy's name) specifically stated that demand for WDW hotels tended to book deluxe/value first & that they'd overbook values knowing they would move them to moderates which tended to book last. I was a bit surprised to hear that statement as it basically admitted bad faith on Disney's part to enter into a contract to provide a room at a specific resort knowing they couldn't do so, not to mention laws against bait and switch.
It's one thing to move a value booking up to a moderate or deluxe - you'll probably find enough people happy with the upgrade that you can get away with it. I hope they aren't trying to increase revenues by overbooking the Epcot resorts during food & wine when those resorts are most in demand figuring they'll just move people to another deluxe as I suspect they'll face a lot more anger from their customers. I know if Disney had taken my money and then intentionally overbooked the resort they promised me I'd be livid.

According to many on this site, there is no way to call the resort directly. You always talk to a call center, even when they answer as if they are at the resort itself.

Denise
I just did it this week, the call center kept saying they had no availability to add days at the beginning of my trip, called the resort directly and it was done in no time.

Unless you have access to unpublished back stage numbers, you don't get the resort when you call. You get the Disney Call Center and if ask about booking a room or changing a reservation they simply redirect your call to the Disney Reservation Center.

I'm glad they could put you in the BCV, but I do certainly hope it's a one bedroom, not a studio! A studio would be a downgrade, as you'd have one queen bed and a double sofa sleeper instead of two queen beds. It's not a huge deal, but a studio is average 356 square feet, and a room at the BC is average 380 square feet.

Well said. Ya, during the Food and Wine, a great number of guest want an Epcot resort and Disney knows this. Really makes ya wonder.
