Ok we're finally going to
Experience the Beach Club - we're going for 10 days in July and taking advantage of free dining - does anyone have tips or must do's for the Beach Club? We have two boys -9 and 16 we were thinking of dinners most nights in Epcot since it's so close but we wanted to also to Fantasmic one night - how bad is the walk from HS to Beach Club and is the pool as amazing as people say? Any tips and opinions are much appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance

How bad is the walk from HS to Beach Club

We think it's great! It's our preferred method of getting to and from DHS in the morning or evening. During the middle of the day in the summer it's a little too much heat.

And is the pool as amazing as people say?

Yes, yes it is.

Any tips and opinions are much appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance

Welcome! and congratulations on staying at the BC! It is a great resort

The walk from DHS isn't bad, I think about 25 minutes maybe? But, no worries, there is a boat to take if you are too tired to make the hike.

Yes, the pool is very nice at the BC. (FYI: The stairs to the pool slide are outside the pool area across the walkway to Epcot. Good to know in advance, IMO. Forewarned is forearmed.) SAB has lots of bridges, a sandy bottom, a shallow, sandy end for littles, nice hot tubs, eddies, lazy 'river' area and is simply huge.

It is nice to walk over to the Boardwalk in the evening to enjoy the buskers over there. After watching illuminations, it is just a couple of minutes walk back to your room!

Tip: If you want a full balcony or patio at the BC, it is a good idea to make that a request as some rooms have small standing room only balconies.

Enjoy!

We just got back from The Beach Club last week and it was amazing! The pool is awesome! We really enjoyed walking to Epcot and not relying on the busses during a busy time. A must do if you like steak is The Yachtsman. The steaks we had were amazing! We did a lot of resort time. Parks in the morning then back to the resort in the evening. Boardwalk is a short stroll away and there is plenty to do there. We enjoyed the resort so much, we already booked this December. Enjoy!

I adore Beach Club. Adore. It. I looooooove the proximity to Epcot, and that pool. Ooooh that pool. I also got the best upgrade of my Disney life at beach club (club level, pool/boardwalk view. It was aaaamazing) so it will always have a special place in my heart
As mentioned, request a full balcony, as a large number of rooms only have a Juliet balcony, and those are no fun.
The walk to/from DHS isn’t bad at night, during the summer, I find the part from DHS to civilization to be pretty gross, so what we do is grab the boat at DHS, take it to the first stop at swan/dolphin, then just walk the rest of the way, as it is way faster than making the stops. (At DHS park close, when it is nighttime and the boat line is super long, we just walk the whole thing)

Love the BC, the walk to Epcot and HS is great, the pool is wonderful. The only thing I don't like is the quick service. We would go over to the Yacht club's quick service for breakfast which was much better!

Good call doing a lot of dinners at Epcot, it's a perfect walk over.

I'd say budget 1-2 days in as just hotel days, because you can enjoy the pool and walk to the Boardwalk/Epcot for lunch when you need it.

There's a path that you can walk to Hollywood Studios that I've always wanted to do, but haven't yet.

It smells very fishy walking past it when they are serving dinner.

I think it smells very fishy walking past all the time. And not just walking past, I can smell it from far away.

Doesn't bother me one bit though--I like fish!

ETA that Cape May also has an awesome breakfast! Still smells like fish though.
