I have never stayed there so excited because as of today my waitlist came through!! Can I request certain areas??

Not really. The Villas at the Beach Club are all in one building, which isn't near anything of note. You can request an upper floor or not, an accessible room or not, or a specific view. That being said, the views at the BCV aren't much to write home about. You're pretty much facing the woods, a canal, the parking lot, or some combination thereof. I

f you have a woods view on a high floor on the right side of the 'Y' shape that is the BCV building, you might have a shot at seeing the high fireworks from Illuminations. I suppose you could request that (although I've heard they stopped taking 'Epcot view' requests at the BCV, so maybe not), but since it's really the only 'view' at BCV, I'd not count on it. Whether or not you get your request, you're going to have a great time at BCV. Even if you can't see anything in particular, it's still lovely and peaceful wherever you end up.

Upper floor fireworks view is what I like to request.

Both times I stayed there I requested ground floor close to the villas lobby..( for quick stroll to marketplace etc)...both times I was given the request with perfect for me rooms just off the villas lobby..with pool views.
interestingly it was clear that both rooms were assigned to me when i checked in and gave my requests then at the desk...they searched on the PC for one fitting the bill. Both times I checked in early morning...with the last time a 6.30am check in...:scared1: :)

Don't want to be Debbie Downer just a heads up. We have had fireworks view before on the 5th floor. You're really not going to see a grand fireworks show. Remember, Epcot has illuminations which shoots its fireworks off a lot lower than say MK. You may see burst of sparkles now and again but I definitely was not able to sit out on the balcony with a drink and enjoy the fireworks. :rotfl:
The villas were added on after the hotel so it's views are really standard, which may be why they don't have different view catagories.

actually I;m not even interested in the fireworks since we will be there for the food and wine both of our days and will probably be at epcot anyway. However, we would love to be close to the main lobby and maybe a pool view is there an area like that???

You and I had the same view, WOW! but you can hear the pop pop sounds from the fireworks real well! Sometimes a view matters, sometimes it doesn't. We still had a great time!

I was there in August and had a good view of about 60% of the fire works from balcony in 431. I would think a lower floor pool view near the lobby would be one, which you would likely get.

Have fun.

You read my mind. This is EXACTLY what happened to us. Couldn't have been happier!

Just request close to the lobby if that is what you want.

BCV VETS - What about first floor pool view? I think I would rather look at the pool then the woods. Are there any cons being on the first floor?

I think 1st floor would be super convient for the kids to go to the pool, and just getting around as a whole. Some of the upper floor balconys are standing room only (i think- read it somewhere) and I would rather have a patio then a standing room only balcony.

I am just wondering about how the whole balcony thing works out on the first floor (well, i guess its a patio). I am guessing there would be a lack of privacy with people walking by it - you know, if you wanted to sit out at night and have a glass of wine,, would you feel like you are on the main thoroughfare of traffic?

Does anyone have pros and cons for first floor rooms?

TIA

(sorry to hijack the thread op!)

It's the BC not BCV that have the standing room only balconies.

Last week I had a first floor studio that probably I wouldn't have picked, but it was wonderful. It was opposite the door that goes out to the pool, and was by the elevator, on the woods, or road side. I enjoyed sitting on the patio, and the quick walk to the pool was great. The room had been assigned to me, I had no wait when I checked in at noon.

I can see no problem with asking for a first floor pool view.

Thanks Bobbiwoz

Do you have any pics of the first floor patio? - and does anyone out there have a pic of the first floor patio facing the pool?

TIA

Remember that the BCV pool isn't SAB - its the community pool. SAB from the BCV is a little bit (LITTLE bit) of a walk. I haven't stayed at BCV, but enjoy the photos of the rooms overlooking the community pool - I think that would be a great choice - just didn't want you to be disappointed.

We stay at BCV a lot and enjoy the big pool with the sand bottom over at BC when we first get there But later in the week when the parks have taken there toll on my patence the quit pool over at the villas is just the ticket. Also I don't like to stay on the gound floor. Pleople walking by and looking in at me makes me nervice. Also my DD didn't close the door once and one of those lizards got in. This was followed by lots and lots of screaming on my part and a few words I can't repeat. This disney Mom hates Lizards snakes and small rodents.

Thanks Crisi - I knew that it was the quiet pool, but still wondered if noise and people activity would make the first floor pool view a little less desirable.

ACK! You would of heard a few undisney like words from me if a snake got in the room! Thanks for telling me!

this website has pictures from most views and great floor plan maps

Thanks Kenny, I have looked at this site, and it has some great info and pictures in it. Unfortunately, it does not have a photo of a pool side first floor room, which I was interested in (however the lizzard thing has got me thinkin
 )

Guess I will just request 'pool view' and see what happens - or maybe even play the 'room assigner roulette' and make no requests! Its more important to me to have a pool view then first floor anyways... Its our first trip home, I know that I am going to enjoy no matter what view - I bought BCV because of location not views (ok, and for the SAB, and uhm, Beaches and Cream, and well, I just love the theming of it) First time I saw BC my heartstrings were pulled... and I cant wait to stay there!

Anyways, thanks for the replies, and if anyone has any more pictures of views they would like to share, I luv looking at them!

Critters entering rooms is not limited to first floor. My DSis and we have had the experience of a frog in the room on upper floors at VWL. Not a common of course, this is two stays out of maybe 40, but things happen.
