Hello everyone!

I'm new. :wave2:Can you help me with my upcoming trip to the Beach Club. We booked standard, but I'm hoping to get a full balcony. I need fresh air or I get claustrophobic. How should I handle that request? Thanks

You should call and ask that they put a full balcony as your primary room request and then keep your fingers AND toes crossed!!!

As was suggested, have your request for a full balcony put on your reservation. Then, when you actually check-in, mention it again to the CM at the counter. Let them know how important it is to you.

BTW, you'll find the rooms at BC are very nice and airy. It should go a long way towards relieving your anxiety.

Welcome to the DIS boards!

Thanks for the responses guys! I'm going to call and place the request right now...

I usually request a first floor room at BC, just because of the balcony issue. The first floor rooms have a patio with two chairs. The only place that the patio didn't seem very private was when we were on the side that faces Epcot - there's a sidewalk there that is attached to the patios and people are always coming and going. The best patios we've had are ones facing the quiet pool.

Just wondering, if claustrophobia is a big concern, would Yacht Club next door be a better choice for her? They have many (if not all) full balconies so that would not be a problem.

Even if you don't get a full balcony, you get a partial balcony. You can still open the doors and "sort of" step out, I think. It's not like you'd be shut in. You could still get fresh air.

The best way around this is to request a FIRST FLOOR room. That way, you will definitely have a patio.

Good luck!

That's good to know for next time. I guess it might be too late now. :confused3

Austin, get on the phone now! I switched (the other way) just recently, with no problem. You may well get YC if you call now. Esp because you have a standard reserved, your changes of that full balcony are much much better at YC. Tell the CM why. I have a friend with your condition, so I know what this means.

Cool, thanks Cali. I'll do it!

Hello everyone. My wife and I are just starting to plan a last minute trip to WDW for Easter with our 16 month old. We know we will be limited in our activities and we're not planning on trying to do too much, it will just be an overview type of trip to see what's at WDW and how best to get around for future trips as she gets older.

My question is what advice people could provide about the best resort to stay at for our situation. We'd like to stay 4 or 5 days and go to each theme park once, just to walk around. But we know she will tire easily and we will have our own car for getting away when that happens.

Thanks!

I agree about the YC! We've stayed there 4 times and always have had a full balcony. I would still request it, just in case there are a few rooms that dont have it, but the one advantage YC has over BC is the balconies, IMO. Good luck with whichever one you stay at. A phone request and reminder at check-in will hopefully do the trick!:)

Just call again and ask for what do you want. Enjoy your stay and have fun and have a great time.

Have a safe trip coming. :)

Put your question as a new thread so people will see it and respond more.:)
