Beach Club advice??

Hi everyone -

This Thursday 12/13 DH and DD (9 1/2) leave for their first daddy/daughter trip to WDW and their first stay in the Beach Club. They have a studio for 3 nights, and arrive Thursday at 9 am and leave Sunday at 6 pm.

Any advice, must-see's,etc? They've also never been at Christmas time!

I suggest they go check out the decorations at the Grand Floridian -- there's an adorable life-size gingerbread house in the lobby in addition to all the other "grand" decorations. The lighting of the Christmas tree each evening at EPCOT and the Santas around the World are also worthwhile, as are the Osbourne Family Lights at MGM. Let us know how their trip goes.

Depending on how much time they want to spend in the parks I would suggest the Campfire Sing Along at Fort Wilderness. There is a big campfire and they sell packets for roasting marshmallows or making smores. Then they have a sing along with Chip and Dale and finally they finish it off by playing a Disney movie. I believe if you do a search one of the other discussion threads usually posts the movies for the month.

We went at Christmas time when my daughter was nine and she absolutely loved the campfire. The other thing she still talks about is the Santas around the world at Epcot.

They do something similar right on the beach at the BC too. There are no characters, but they have a campfire and beach movies. It's a real fun family time.

I would think at your DD age that going to the Boardwalk in the evening and seeing the boardwalk performers would be a good bet (and free). It's a quick walk around the lake. An ice cream cone might a nice addition as well.

Mini golf is right across the road from the swan/dolphin. Another nice non-park thing that is close to BCV.

Seeing the castle lit with the holiday lights is a must. Another must at MK is the newly referbed Haunted Mansion. It was so cool I went on twice.

The Osborne Lights at MGM is also a fun Christmas activity. Really pretty awsome.

AK has the new Nemo Musical show that was wonderful. My girls always love the safari ride and the walking trails at AK.

I'm sure they will have a great time with what ever the day brings them.
