After staying at VWL then going to BCV one of my kids favorite area was the beach, they love playing in the sand. I have stayed at SSR and just thinking.....why not a beach at SSR? I know now it would take probably a lot of moving things and won't happen. However I think they could have easily found a way to incooperate a beach area at SSR. Now I don't know a great deal about the "real" Saratoga Springs but imagine they have a beach somewhere!?!?!?

Just being such a big deal for the kids and SSR being such a huge resort and it seems like the beach is a hit at all the other resorts. Ok thanks for listening, too much time on my hands today I guess:confused3

The resorts that have beaches all had them before Florida passed legislation that restricted swimming in bodies of water such as the lakes at Disney due to the risk of bacterial infections. That's why there are signs on these beaches that say no swimming.

It may be that they're not permitted to build any more beaches. Even if that's not the case, they probably don't want to deal with the issue.

:rotfl2: Trust me, there's nothing beach-like about Saratoga Springs. There might be a lake where people wade and swim, but that's it.

That said, I understand what you're getting at, but I think a beach area has a lot of maintenance and something DVD wouldn't do. (VWL probably wouldn't have one if it hadn't already been there for WL, for example.)

I thought that the boat dock area definitely needed some kind of ummph. It definitely lacked charm. It looked like it belonged in Future World at Epcot.

Maybe a marina with sea-raycers would help.

I thought it was a realy pity too. It really left a poor 1st impression.

I agree. It is great to have, but definately needs "something" to class it up. I love the boat dock at VWL, it extends the charm of the resort. The boat dock at SSR feels like the back side of the caddy shack (& it actaully is). Maybe a horse racing style cover to keep you out of the hot sun & rain.
