to go even further - how do you prove someone lied any more than you can prove they scammed?
I actually got into a rather heated argument with a moderator over a scamming post which WAS allowed, and I thought should not have been a while back. Everyone believed the original poster because they are a "well know, respected member" - well, I thought, why is this person allowed to slam the other? And the other cannot very well defend themselves ona board which is decidedly against them. This is a case in point.
Plus: I spent 5 years moderating a card trading board. We had exactly such an example of "lying" happen which did in fact cause the accused to quit the board and sell off his collection. I came to find out later on that the so called "scammer" was absolutely in the right. And this involved real money, real business and real reputations. not virtual items.
In addition: In my opinion, even these "hey I was scammed" posts should not be allowed. there have been too many which sounded bogus to me. (such as multiple "i was scammed" threads from the same person or persons)
