Info:
-My kids likely wouldn't enjoy the parade (from what I've seen online it looks too scary for them), and I can't imagine they'll be thrilled to see a bunch of villains but I could be wrong about that.
-We aren't local so this trip is a once in about 5 years trip
-We're going in September

So, is it worth trying to jump into a queue tomorrow for tickets, or should we just skip it. They don't even know it exists so there wouldn't be any hard feelings. I haven't found any videos online that show little kids there, it's all adults haha. I'm really not sure what to expect so any thoughts or advice is appreciated here.

If you're having doubts, then skip it. Sounds like the only thing they'd enjoy is the candy! Maybe when they get a little older or more into that stuff, but for now, it seems like it'd be a lot of money for them to be bored or scared.

Kids do go, but you know your kids better than anyone else, so if it feels like they won't be interested, then they probably wouldn't be.

I agree with the others - skip it for now. It is really cool for those that are in to Halloween and the villains, but I'd rather wait until your next trip in about 5 years when your kids are old enough that they FOR SURE won't be scared. For something fun like Oogie you don't want to push them and then have them embed the memory as something terrifying and awful (even though it is quite mellow).

I would probably skip it for now. I saw a vlog of a walk through both DL and DCA. There was a lot of things to enjoy without going to the party. DL has the pumpkins and festive decorations. DCA has Carsland that looks so great and the headless horseman statue. There is plenty of Halloween things without going to the party. I would take the money and spend it on something you know your children would enjoy.

BTW - one of the vlogs I watched had a child about 5 or 6 and he fell asleep about midway between the 1st parade.

We took our two oldest to the MNSSHP when they were like 4 and 6 and they were ready for bed at 9pm. Like they couldn’t keep their eyes open and they fell asleep on the sidewalk while sitting and watching the parade. So I say skip. If you’re back again in 5 years they will be a great age to really enjoy it and be excited for it.

Yes, this thought occurred to me as well, and might throw off the following day if they sleep in to recover from staying late. So yeah, sounds like a skip. Thanks everyone, I think I was just having a little FOMO.

If they are able to stay up and it is not a cost issue the reasons you would consider it would be the shorter ride times, treat trails, and special Disney Jr. show.

I agree with the advice above.

When my girls were that age, the party was at DL. They enjoyed the Halloween decorations, the tree, HMH, the Dapper (Cadaver) Dans and meeting the princesses - most of which can be seen at DL without attending a party. But we also tapped out by about 9.

By design, OBB is themed for a more mature audience (older kids, teens and adults), because Nightmare Before Christmas is creepier than Mickey Mouse. Apart from the treat trails, the best things about the party - the parade, Villians Grove, the villian treat trails - are less likely to be appreciated by small children if they are easily frightened. Go next time!

My kids would not have been able to stay up late enough to enjoy all of the party offerings. I agree that I would skip it and come back with the kids are 10-12 years old. Then they will LOVE it!!!

I have a 4 year old and we kept her up for the 100th fireworks show at 9:30. She was a zombie the entire show and was a grumpy ******* the next day. Just a bit of frame of reference.
