Be Our Guest

Ah okay, good luck! I have CRT for 2, 5/4 8:35 to drop so was going to offer to you :)
You are so kind to offer but thank you anyway. I think I have a cast member who has managed to work some pixie dust magic on our behalf. It is not finalized and formalized yet but I have my fingers crossed that they are on the up and up when they say that both the Head Chef & Area Manager have emailed them back saying okay for me to bring my mom.
Good luck and enjoy your trip. See you around the world in a few weeks.
:thanks:

Oh that is wonderful news! Thank you! You as well! Have a magical trip! :wizard:

Hello, can anyone offer any tips or strategies on getting a reservation for Be Our Guest? After 8 long years, I was able to finally plan a short trip to Disney with my daughter. She's 12, and I wanted her to experience the magic before her teen years. One of the "must do's" on her list is dinner at Be our Guest. I'm not even having luck with getting lunch or breakfast reservations (party of 3). We will be staying from May 30th (arrive late, so that night wouldn't work) and leave on Wed the 4th at 6p.m to get the bus to the airport (so no dinner on that night either). I am now learning it's a difficult restaurant to get a reservation, I wish I had known that a month ago when we booked. Any tips or info would be appreciated! Thank you!

Disney dining has a 24 hour cancellation policy, where people have to pay $10 per person if they don't show up for the reservation. (In actual practice, you only have to cancel before midnight the night before, even if it's less than 24 hours.) Due to the no-show fee, most people who change their minds do cancel their reservations. So keep checking back daily in the last few weeks and days (especially the night before) the day you want the reservation for. You just might snap up someone's cancellation. Also, I recommend not being picky about which meal- just take whichever you can get- they'll all be fine. At Be Our Guest, it's the atmosphere that is the main draw.

Good luck and crossing fingers for you! I agree with what others have said about checking back frequently and refreshing. I just decided this past weekend to book a very "last minute" 3 day/2 night stay in mid-April and knew that the popular dining options at prime times would be all taken. I was able to do a random check and found a BOG breakfast reservation pre-park opening on my last day. I booked it quickly despite reading all the reviews of the official price hike and such (this is our once in every four year trip back) so we felt it was worth it to book that ADR as quickly as I spotted it.

I was lucky enough to connect with someone on the May cancellation forum, and scored dinner on one of our dates.
I was both ready on the phone with a CM when she was going to release the reservation and ready online as well.
It was through the CM that I got the reservation.
We're so thrilled!!! And very thankful to the member on this forum that released the reservation:)

Do you no longer need/want the BOG breakfast? :)

Persistence. Keep checking online multiple times a day to see if a cancellation comes up. You can continue looking up to the day of if you can't find a reservation in advance. Look for a party of 3 or a party of 4 since parties of 3 are usually seated at a 4 top. The reservation system has a quirk that makes it harder to book an odd number because the system wants to fill all the seats at a table so while a party of 3 will be bypassed, add one person and often there is a better chance to find a table. Everyone needs to be included because of fire code regulations so do not look for a party of 2. If you find a 4, just let the castmember at the podium know there are just 3 of you when you check in and as long as at least one person shows up for the reservation you will not be charged for the "missing" person.

Since you have only a limited number of days be flexible in your time. If you want to meet the Beast or want wine or beer with your meal, you will have to book dinner. If neither of these are important you can also look for a lunch or breakfast reservation. While BOG has a large seating capacity, at dinner not all the rooms or tables are used because they can only seat based on how fast the kitchen can plate meals. Lunch and breakfast are quick service with a more limited menu so there is a faster turnover and more guests can dine.

You can subscribe to the May and June cancellation threads at the top of this sub-forum.

Walking up is a last resort because the week you are going can be busy (Memorial Day weekend, lots of schools are already out).
I've been having trouble getting ressies as well and after reading what you've said makes me wonder if it because there is only 3 of us?? Question though. If I put in 4 then when I finish the ressie I have to click on who will all be there, even though DH won't be with us on this trip if I put him on the ressie, your saying they will not penalize me for him not showing up as long as I'm there?! Thx

Yes, that is correct! As long as at least one person shows up, no penalty!

They should not penailze... but even if they did wouldn't the hard to get reservation be worth 10 bucks? Go for it!
