This is probably a silly question, but I was just wanting to clarify about the BOG breakfast prices. Looking at the menu on the MDE app, all the breakfasts are listed as $28.00. Is that right? I mean, I'm sure Disney has accurate pricing on their app, but at the same time I don't understand why/how a cronut has the same price point as a bacon/egg/sausage etc meal. My family is going to the parks in Sept, and I'm dying to go to BOG, and hoping for a breakfast reservation to get into MK early. But I'm the only one of us that is a big fan of proper breakfast, and if it's going to cost $28 for my husband to get a donut, I'd rather book for lunch.

Isn't breakfast still ala carte? I have not heard that people are mandated to order the breakfasts in toltal.

I also think the alcoholic beverage is included in the DIning plan, not the entree, so if one is not on the plan, one must pay for teh beverage. I think.

BOG has moved to a fixed price menu.

For breakfast and dinner, yes. For lunch it is a la carte pricing.

@DisBuckMan is correct- NON-alcoholic drinks (fountain drinks/ coffee) are included with breakfast even if you are not using the dining plan. If you were using the dining plan, an alcoholic drink would be included.

OP, an option to keep costs down is to order a kid’s meal or split an entree. It’s still plenty of food.

Not everyone in the party has to order a full meal (in fact, no one HAS to), so your husband could get a cupcake and a coffee, or just share the pastries that come with yours, if that’s his preference.

We have a reservation and are still debating about it because of the prices, though, it’s a tough call. We have three adults, two probably want full breakfasts, one would be tempted by the cronut but I bet would opt for a kid’s meal (and then we have two kids as well). I understand this is one of the few times when the portions at WDW are not huge, so it’s not like other places where we could order a few things and happily share and be full. And the early ride access is a sometimes perk but not guaranteed...but being in the park when it’s still fairly quiet has some appeal.

BOG breakfast is only worth it if on the dining plan (especially free dining). We (2 of us) get a PPO ressie, and pre-order just 1 meal to share. You also get a plate of pastries to share. After we eat,we get a jump on the line for 7DMT or PPF.

Thank you everyone for your replies :) I didn't even think of the option of ordering a kids meal. We'll probably wind up doing that. We're not on the dining plan, and I know price wise lunch is probably the better choice, but quiet castle shots with my daughter on her first trip are worth way more than the money we'd be saving

Just so you know, empty castle shots are pretty much a thing of the past. For a 9am opening, MK will open around 8am, so there will be lots of people already in the park when you're entering for your breakfast.

This is correct. Main Street is open all the way to the castle at 8 AM for a 9 AM park opening. Those with ADR's will be allowed past, but you won't get empty castle shots with a PPO ADR anymore. If that's your biggest reason for booking the breakfast, I'd pass in favor of having lunch instead.

Are they still letting PPO folks in about 7:45? We did EMM last year and I know the line up for that was shared with PPO, so everyone there got in before the general main street crowds. Just by a few minutes, and it’s a decent sized group, but as close to empty as you’re going to get.

Oh, I know the new opening procedure. I know empty isn't going to happen, I'm hoping for "relatively quiet". Last time I went, it was still the train station opening, and even with the rope drop crowd, I lucked out and got some quiet shots (and even walked right on to my first 5 rides of the day!). Fingers are crossed I can get that lucky again, with a bee line to castle and no Main Street distractions

Guests are now allowed all the way up to the castle before the park opens. It’s not nearly as quiet on Main Street as it used to be with the old opening procedure. People are racing toward the castle to either see the welcome show or jockey for position to get into the rest of the park. The crowd that used to form outside the main gate simply now forms inside the gate.

I’m pretty sure you’re right. Breakfast is still a la carte. According to the website anyway.

It’s technically a la carte but all prices are $28 for an adult meal and include non-alcoholic beverages. You could order a kids meal, or just a beverage so it’s not prix fixe in the same way dinner is (where adults are charged one price and kids another regardless of what’s consumed).
