Hi. I've read many posts on the large portions at WDW. Should we plan to share the pork (is it yummy?)? How about the size of the kids meatloaf? I'm happy to order something for everyone, but I also don't like to waste food. TIA for any tips.

Its not one of those places where the portions are really huge. We often share but we each had the pork and DS had a kids meals there, and we finished all of our food and shared two cupcakes between the three of us. Full but not stuffed.

We went for lunch and the portions were a little on the small size by Disney standards. I looked at pictures ahead of time and ended up ordering my DH an extra cup of soup as a side in order to fill him up.

As mentioned by others, it's "right portion for one person". We went for lunch and comparing to other CS foods, it was just enough for one person. With other CS food, most of the food, we could not finish and end up throwing them away.
If you think it's not enough, don't forget you can substitute you dessert for soup (unless you HAVE to have your own dessert). Both soups were good. There was 4 of us and what we did was, 2 of us ordered desserts and 2 of us substituted for 2 different kind of soup and we all shared soups and desserts.

I LOVE the braised pork (one of my favorite Disney meals), but I wouldn't share it with everyone. The two sides (asparagus and cauliflower mashed potatoes) are delicious, but pretty small. The actual Pork is not that large. It's more than enough for one person, but I couldn't imagine eating half of it and being satisfied.

IMO the braised pork is the best entree item on the menu, (and we've had them all). It's enough for one person. It would be difficult to stretch that one to two people. The sandwiches, maybe, but not the pork.

Share with who? Two adults. Probably not. My teenage DD and I shared the steak and the salad trio. We were satisfied enough. If was my husband, forget it.

When I ordered the pork, it was plenty for two people. I barely finished half of it, and my teenage daughter only ate half of her croque monsieur.

BOG lunch: I found the adult portions a bit large for my lunch appetite so I down sized to a child's portion for the braised pork. Could you share an adult lunch entree? Betw an adult & small child, likely yes. Betw 2 adults? Less likely & may need to order a side.
BOG dinner: adult portions were significantly smaller than other WDW restaurants and while OK for my appetite, may not satisfy a hungry, larger appetite.

IMO we found the lunch and dinner portions to be just about perfect for our appetites. Dinner for sure was a smaller portion than most places; all 4 of us cleaned our plates and left satisfied but not disgustingly full. The breakfast portions were a bit more than we needed or wanted in the morning.

We find WDW meals to be filling, yet still the right amount for one hungry person-i.e., I wouldn't be happy to split my meal (unless I wasn't particularly hungry when I sat down), and I'm in shape & don't overeat. Instead of sharing, we do only two meals per day, timed well apart, and have a snack where the missing meal would be.

My DD and I had lunch there last August, and first off it was one of our favorite meals of the trip (we were on the free QSDP which we have again this coming late August.).

We each had a soup instead of dessert, and I ordered the roast beef sandwich while she had the croque monsieur. We liked my sandwich better I think (it was delicious) and the French onion soup was also the better of the two soups we thought.

We barely could make it through half our sandwiches after the soups, and left a lot of food.

We agree next time we may share the roast beef sandwich or something, and each get the French onion soup (it was very good).

So to us, one CS credit there gives you way too much food for us. We lingered a while too - took our time eating and enjoying the break.

Well to be fair you really maximized the CS credit. If you had a beverage and a dessert maybe not. But it is definitely a good idea for people who want a soup and sandwich type lunch, for one CS and one snack credit you can each get a soup (will they let you sub both drink and dessert for soup?) and I agree it is a nice meal. But adding the soup is as much as adding another half entree.

Not quite sure what you're saying, but what we did was to each sub out soup instead of dessert.

Next time we will sub out dessert for soup and get an extra soup with a snack credit, or if we BOTH feel like ice water just use one CS credit for a sandwich and 2 soups. We're not big soda drinkers. I prefer water or lemonade, and DD prefers water or iced tea (or sometimes diet coke, blech).

It was a good use of the CS credits - our bill was well over $50 before using the credits.

It was a TON of food though! The French Onion soup alone would have been a nice light lunch!

If we don't share next time, I'll get the salad with seared tuna. And, the soup, of course. It was really that good.

Breakfast I had the open face Brie sandwich, and for lunch I had the roast beef with potatoe and leek soup. Both times I barely finished my meals. If I had shared with my husband we both would have been left hungry, but for just me, I was stuffed.

My kids share adult meals at BOG breakfast and lunch without any problems.

Oh I'm just saying that you added a whole other course and french onion soup with bread and cheese is pretty heavy IMO. soup plus a full entree is a lot of food even if both are small (it's not like a tiny cup of chicken soup or something). having to add a soup to make it a splittable meal means it's not a splittable meal. I am looking forward to doing the soup for a nice light lunch myself! I could not do a bowl of french onion soup and a full meal after it pretty much anywhere. That's all I meant!

I think my sister and I are going to split the croque Monsieur. Neither one of us eat that much. Hope it is tasty! (Never ate at BOG!)

The child's meatloaf is very small - I am pretty sure they cook them in a muffin tin (they are shaped like muffins). I remember because my teenage son thought the meatloaf sounded really good so he ordered it and we were all shocked when it arrived. We weren't expecting anything very big since it was a kid's meal but it was VERY small. My son said the entire meal was very good though. He just ended up getting a snack a little later.
