Be Our Guest Lunch FastPass Thread [PLEASE read the FAQs in the first post!]

Making guests pick lunch or a ride might work for cutting down the FP line, making standby easier to get since tables wouldn't be pre booked. I get there at rope drop so I would give up a third ride for BOG as I adore the pork but many won't want to.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the first/only person to make this mistake, mom2grant. Thank you and andrewilley for sharing the trick to get out of this mistake. I'll give that a try. Am I correct in thinking that I could then have two lunches at BOG, one with each email?

shyjade, the only reason why I'm trying to do it now is so that I'm not doing it at the last minute and making mistakes (such as the one I've already made) that could get in the way of successfully making the reservation. I have been able to enter my reservation number. I entered the wrong one, but at least that's something. Progress?

I just want to point out that if you sign up with a different email, you need to use a different name that is on your reservation. And even that doesn't always work.

I made a new acct using my husband's name and email, and using the correct reservation number (the second one for a split stay); the BOG FP+ site recognized the reservation number and automatically linked it with the earlier reservation number. So it still pulls up the first part of our stay, instead of the 2nd -- which is when I want to get the lunch FP.

Of course, as many have noted, this all may be pointless anyway given our collective inability to book ANY DATES in November.....

Disney, this is ridiculous. I have followed all of your rules:
1. I booked onsite at 7am as soon as the Disney visa offer came out and was on the phone for 3 hours.
2. I booked all of my adr's at 180 days + 10 at 100am
3. I booked all of my fastpasses at 60 days out at 100am
4. The last thing I have to get taken care of before I leave for my overly planned vacation is a BOG fastpass+.
And you decide to change the rules 3 weeks before my vacation, are you serious?
And you have the guts to send me an email to book my BOG FP+ that doesn't work?
This is the last straw. I am a planner by nature and it used to be planning and the anticipation was half of the fun.
I can honestly say this will be my last trip to WDW for quite a few years. Just not worth the headache.:furious:
Anybody else feel like this?

As I read this post I thought to myself "Hmmm, when did I type this??" This is exactly how I feel! I have jumped through EVERY hoop they have asked, I have "towed the line". I got online 180 days before my check in at midnight and booked my dining and was unable to get BOG for dinner for my daughter's birthday on the LAST day of our trip. I have even had the concierge desk (we are staying club level) looking for the dining reservation every day since with no luck. I got online at midnight 60 days out and booked my FP+ experiences. I am also a planner, this new system is designed for people JUST like me, and I hate it! It has too many bugs and aggravations. And, when I call Disney to get things resolved, NO ONE knows anything! We check in November 1, and I feel like that's going to be our last trip for a while. We have been annual passholders for years, and we have already decided NOT to renew. I have loved Disney for decades, but even I have a breaking point. I want to give them a few years to get all THEIR ducks in a row, and then consider another visit. Sigh....sorry for the rant...but I agree...enough is enough! I just got my BOG invitation email about 15 minutes ago and it made me want to yell very loudly :)

:thumbsup2

We have decided to cruise next year. It will be our first year without a Disney parks vacation in my DD12's lifetime. Disney is still getting my money, of course, but it's going to the cruise division instead of the parks.

Actually, even this December we are only doing one park day plus MVMCP. I have never only bought a one day ticket. We normally stay 8-10 days and get 8 day hoppers, often with water parks. So my spending has decreased dramatically this time around. I definitely will not be spending any spare time shopping either lol. We will be sleeping in and enjoying the resort amenities like pool games, the campfire and movie, Boardwalk entertainers, etc.

Yes, exactly. Except add to this the fact that after I booked (like you on the phone at 6 am the very day the Disney Visa FD promotion was announced), when I was online at 6 am trying to make my ADRs at 180+10, the website was screwed up and I couldn't book until online at all.

Then, after all this, I got a letter telling me my hotel's pool would be closed for refurbishment during our stay.

So, yes. I echo your sentiments loud and clear! And the worst part of it is that when you call Disney, no one seems to have a clue!

I totally agree.

We went two years in a row 2009 & 2010. This is our first trip back. And it has been night and day.

Back then I thought everything was so seamless. So well orchestrated. Yes I needed to plan things out and be well prepped, but this time has just been one big headache and one glitch after another.

My stress over all of this has done my husband in. "I'm not paying thousands upon thousands of dollars to be stressed out."

This will be our last trip till we have grandkids I think. Our kids are turning 10 on this trip. We'll give our dollars to the Caribbean and Europe.

I was up at midnight on my 180 day mark to book all my fast passes and there was already a couple that were not available. Then all of our fastpasses were booked for the 7 of us, and Disney decided to drop all my kids so the fast passes were now all of the sudden for only two people. Then when we called the first person we spoke with said "sorry you can try rebooking them". By this point there was almost none of the ones we wanted left. I have spent enough time on the phone with disney trying to correct mistakes they made or problems caused by their system issues, that I think I should have a time card and collect a paycheck.

Sad to say since I have 5 girls, but I don't think I will be back for quite a while after this. There has been nothing magical about this whole deal. The only magic was the money disappearing from my checking account.... that works like magic!

FRUSTRATED, IRRATATED, turning to pissed at this point!

FYI: If anyone is interested (I posted this on another thread), I have a Be Our Guest ADR for dinner on November 7 at 555p for 2 people I am going to cancel, and I can coordinate the cancellation so someone else can grab it.

Finding it VERY humorous/ridiculous that within three minutes of posting my vent message above, I opened my email to find the Bonjour msg from disney inviting me to book BoG.

Seriously. Isn't there an intern in the IT dept who has the time to stop these emails for the non-functional site from being sent out??

I have gotten 2 bonjour emails in the past 24 hours. Makes no sense!

Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner

:rotfl: Wow. Nothing like rubbing it in that you can't make a FP huh?

This has been claimed.

Since no-one at Disney seems to be picking up any feedback on this system, and it's impossible to get hold of anyone to report faults to, maybe they're not even aware there's an issue?

Andre

I feel like Disney MUST be aware. Even the DisneyFoodBlog posted the below:

Be Our Guest FastPass+ Reservation Invitation

It remains to be seen if this is another step in the FastPass+ experiment, or if it is just Disney’s method of dealing with the lunch crowds that continue to swarm Be Our Guest nearly two years after the restaurant’s opening.

And with some reports trickling out that the system in place isn’t accepting FastPass+ reservations beyond the month of October, we are wondering if this is simply a transitional measure for something yet to come.
