The family I am traveling with asked if we could possibly move the FP+ time a little later, and I didn't see a problem with that, so I went in to try to change it. (I had asked them ahead of time what time they wanted and I told them the time I was planning to get and they didn't respond, then when I told them that I had gotten the FP+ successfully, they said they'd like to eat a little later. Sheesh!) I am on one account, and the family of four is on another account. I tried to change mine first, and it worked just fine; I was able to get a time slot within 5 minutes of what I was aiming for. Then, I went to change it for the family, and nothing was available! Where it usually shows 2 time slot options, it only showed one, which was the time slot that we already had. I ended up going back and changing my time slot back to our original time (fortunately that worked otherwise I'm not sure what I would have done!), which is just fine with me because that's the time I wanted to begin with.
We are now 24 days out, and if there was no availability for a family of four three days after the FP+ availability opened up, then I don't know what that means! Just a few months ago, it seemed like people were saying that you could walk up to the concierge at the resort on the first day of your trip and book a BOG FP+ for that week without any problems. But someone a few weeks ago on this thread was saying that there was no availability for her, and Andre said it seems like maybe the FP+ for that day were actually all taken, since it was past her 27 day mark and it seemed like she had done everything else correctly.
The implications of this, I'm guessing, are that either the system is becoming more widely known, or Disney is giving out fewer BOG FP+. Either way, it changes the urgency for getting online right at 2am Eastern Time on the 27-day mark. I hope that they don't close the standby line as I've heard that they've done in the past. Even though I planned to have FP+ from the start, I was frustrated when I heard that Disney was limiting BOG entry to only people with FP+, because I just don't think that's fair to people who stay offsite, or don't plan super far in advance, or who are unable to get FP+ due to technical difficulties, or who miss their FP+ window, or whatever other reason. I think that was only something they did for a short time period, but still I just don't like it on principle.
