Be Our Guest Lunch FastPass Thread [PLEASE read the FAQs in the first post!]

The family I am traveling with asked if we could possibly move the FP+ time a little later, and I didn't see a problem with that, so I went in to try to change it. (I had asked them ahead of time what time they wanted and I told them the time I was planning to get and they didn't respond, then when I told them that I had gotten the FP+ successfully, they said they'd like to eat a little later. Sheesh!) I am on one account, and the family of four is on another account. I tried to change mine first, and it worked just fine; I was able to get a time slot within 5 minutes of what I was aiming for. Then, I went to change it for the family, and nothing was available! Where it usually shows 2 time slot options, it only showed one, which was the time slot that we already had. I ended up going back and changing my time slot back to our original time (fortunately that worked otherwise I'm not sure what I would have done!), which is just fine with me because that's the time I wanted to begin with.

We are now 24 days out, and if there was no availability for a family of four three days after the FP+ availability opened up, then I don't know what that means! Just a few months ago, it seemed like people were saying that you could walk up to the concierge at the resort on the first day of your trip and book a BOG FP+ for that week without any problems. But someone a few weeks ago on this thread was saying that there was no availability for her, and Andre said it seems like maybe the FP+ for that day were actually all taken, since it was past her 27 day mark and it seemed like she had done everything else correctly.

The implications of this, I'm guessing, are that either the system is becoming more widely known, or Disney is giving out fewer BOG FP+. Either way, it changes the urgency for getting online right at 2am Eastern Time on the 27-day mark. I hope that they don't close the standby line as I've heard that they've done in the past. Even though I planned to have FP+ from the start, I was frustrated when I heard that Disney was limiting BOG entry to only people with FP+, because I just don't think that's fair to people who stay offsite, or don't plan super far in advance, or who are unable to get FP+ due to technical difficulties, or who miss their FP+ window, or whatever other reason. I think that was only something they did for a short time period, but still I just don't like it on principle.

Currently finishing our Disney segment tomorrow and just wanted to thank Andre and the other great folks here! While we consider ourselves "Disney veterans", these mass changes are coming fast-n-furious!
Be Our Guest was very good! The FP lunch went very smoothly and everyone was pleased. (We also dined there during diner one night, and it to was very tasty!)

Just went and did my on line check-in and got my number in the url. It even let me request which section and floor I would like at CSR.:thumbsup2

Don't give up - keep checking the website for available times. I'm not sure if you did this or not, but if you check the BoG FP+ site and don't see what you want for a time slot, just refresh the page, and it may bring up different times. It is becoming more popular, no doubt, and the FP+ isn't as widely available on shorter notice as it was once. But DH and I were at WDW a couple weeks ago and managed to eat there three times. After the first FP+ lunch, which we had made well in advance, I was able to get two more FP+ for later in the week. Each time, I took a time that wasn't optimal because it was what seemed to be available. But I kept checking the site regularly on my smartphone, and eventually the time I wanted showed up, sometimes just by refreshing the site multiple times in a row in the same session. So keep at it - you may yet get what you want. As far as stand by goes, I asked a CM outside BoG how they are handling standby. She said they aren't doing the timed tickets any more. They open up standby early, around 10 or so, and let the line get as long as they feel they can accommodate, given what they have for FP+. She said they may close standby availability for a while, and then open it up again, and that it all depends on capacity at the time. She said that early or late in their hours are the best times to try standby.

I did refresh three times and it just showed the same time slot all four times. The weird thing was that where it normally shows two time slot options (one earlier and one later), it was only showing one. I wonder if this has something to do with trying to get a FP+ for four people at one time, because I was able to change it easily for the account that has just me. Unfortunately it does not let you change the number of people in the group, nor does it give you the copy option like regular FP+. I'm not going to keep checking, because the time slot we have is actually the slot that I want; I'm traveling with another family and they wanted to make it later, but I made a decent effort to change it and it didn't work and I'm okay with that!

But, thank you for your response; it's always helpful to hear others' experiences, and that's good to know about standby!

Has anyone had trouble with the site getting "stuck" at the point you put a check mark on the desired date? Any hints or workarounds?

Thanks so much!

Thanks to everyone who provided the detailed instructions and tips for getting FastPass + lunch reservations. I followed them carefully and early this morning was able to secure reservations, same time slot, for two different room reservations. We'll see how it plays out when we get there, but I am super excited to have the opportunity to eat in and see inside the castle. :) couldn't have done it without this thread. THANKS!

Can anyone help me with this, since there is no actual Disney support for this system (as far as I understand)?

I had made 3 seperate reservations for our party of 12 (we are in 3 rooms, though under 1 account, so I had to do it that way). I could only get 2 within the same trimeframe, so a couple of days later I went to see if I could switch days and get us all around the same time. However, not only did doing so lose my current reservation (on one account- I haven't dared try the others because of this), but it's now telling me "There are no FastPasses available. Please select another day." on EVERY day that I try for our 10 day vacation. (when just 2 days ago- when our "window" for the BOG FP opened, there were plenty of options...it's almost like I'm completely blocked out?) I'm stumped.

(I even tried it by making a different account using the same reservation number- it let me get in, but again, "No FastPasses Available...")

Looking for any help on this....I've booked FP for the BoG lunch my last 4 trips without problem so I'm not sure what the issue is now.

Our first res starts 1/24 and even past the 27 day mark I have been getting "no fp available" which what I normally got when my window wasn't open. Today I received the email inviting me to book and again the same thing. It shows my days on this first res 1/24-1/30 as options, but not my second res yet - 1/30-2/4. I can't imagine it's already all booked as I've made this fp with much less advance notice at much busier times. I'm using my same login. It never asked for my reservation #. Any insight would be helpful.

I booked this back in April at the 45 day mark. Is it back to the 27 day mark now? I need to book for DS birthday in February and don't want to miss it. I go online and it is only showing me the next 7 days available from today's date.

I just got my FP+ today for 1/29.

Yesterday I couldn't get 1/28, so it's not exactly predictable.

Good luck everyone!

See the info in the FAQ in the first post. Quite often the system gets "stuck" looking at a previous booking, and so only shows you 7 days from now. Try creating a new account (with a new email address) and link your new booking to that and see if you can view the right dates, even if they show as No Availability. If so, you then just have to wait until your 27 day window opens up to book.

New here. I apologize if this question has been answered (possibly numerous times judging by the amount of pages dedicated to this!).

Backstory: I traveled to WDW in November 2014 and received the email from BOG for the capability to selected a FP for lunch during my stay. It ended up not working out with the timing. The BOG Reservation invitation was sent to my disney account email address ABC123[at]gmail[dot]com (not really my email, for example only).

Current: I am traveling back to WDW (YAY!!:cool1:) the last week in January, 2015. I JUST received an email from BOG with a special reservation number to select a fast pass for my stay. FYI, going the 25th-29th so I am less than 27 days away. This email was also sent to my disney account email address ABC123[at]gmail[dot]com which i used to make my WDW vacation reservation.

I went to the website, https: // beourguestlunch . disney . go . com / and entered my Disney Account email address (that I used to book my travel). It takes me to the next page which just allows me to "Select or Replace" my fast pass reservations and all the other options are greyed out and I am unable to click on them. So I choose Select or Replace, and then the dates are displayed. However, it is only offering me dates for January 2-6 or 7th, I can't recall. Just this week basically. No where did it ask me for my new reservation number.

I know this is a beta system, or in testing or whatever, but is there a way to wipe out my 'history' so to speak, and get the system to realize that I'm not logging in under my old trip (nov 2014) and I actually HAVE a new trip in January of this year?

Thanks everyone for any help!!

There is a glitch with their website, but unfortunately there seems to be no way to let them know there are currently problems with their website. These problems are not normal, and may have just happened with the change to the New Year.

I have been preparing to get BOG FP+ for 4 different groups on Jan. 28th. I checked the website everyday for 5 days leading up to Jan 1st, and I was able to book FPs for any day of my vacation up to 27 days of course, and lots of times available. Suddenly on Jan. 1st, I was only able to book for Jan 28th. Since that is the day I wanted, I didn't think much of it. I booked one of the groups at 10pm on Jan 1st, and still lots of times available for Jan. 28th. I wasn't able to get ahold of one of the groups on Jan. 1st. I tried booking them today, and only Jan. 29th has plenty of FP times available, and not a single time available any other day.

For some reason the website is only showing FP availability on the 27th day, and no other day is available. I will check tomorrow to see if this continues. If anybody can currently see available BOG FP+ times available any other day than the 27th day, please reply to this and let us know. Anyone know anyway to contact them about this problem?

confusing....I am printing out my screenshots of my reserved time right now- since there doesn't seem to be any other way to have a record that we reserved a time....:confused3

I am also only getting this week as an option, plus it didn't ask me for a confirmation number, so the system doesn't even know what dates I'm asking about. Do I just keep trying? Is there anyway to do this by phone?

I called today to try to get my problems sorted and the dining phone person told me that they didn't do BOG lunch fastpass (which I expected but I was calling for another question anyway). They put me through to the general support but the problem with that is that the general support people don't do this new system either because it is just a test. I asked if there was an email address or something and he had a good look and tried to be helpful but couldn't find anything. Basically because it is still in test they cannot provide tech support because they haven't got that far into development yet.

I wonder how they will know if the system works well if they have no feedback mechanism or error reporting??? Doesn't seem like a well designed test to me!

That's odd, I did reply to lolinus's message yesterday morning, saying that the answer that they needed was actually in the post immediately preceding theirs (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=52826489#post52826489) but that second reply seems to have disappeared? Strange!

Anyway, please could both of you check the FAQ in the first post for details of how to create a new account using a fresh email address and then link your new reservation to it. The system is almost certainly 'stuck' looking at an old reservation of yours, and thus is only showing you a current week of availability, not based on your new reservation. This is quite a common problem.

Sadly, as ozliz has just pointed out, there has been absolutely no technical support for this system from Disney, nor indeed anywhere to report problems, which makes it a pretty useless trail IMHO. It is shocking that a year later nothing at all seem to have been done about it, and yet they are still emailing guests inviting them to use this seriously flawed system.

Can you only book for one day??

I originally had one for 1/25 but it was from 10:30-11am (a little earlier). I wanted to book another one for later in the week, but when I did, it cancelled the first one.

Are you only allowed to have one?
