Has anyone eaten there lately? I have a dinner reservation and we are wanting to go for the experience more than anything.

If you ate dinner there recently, what did you have and were you happy and did you find something for your kids to eat?

Thanks :)

We ate there recently. The food was not great, but the experience was. I had the lamb chop and my DH had the steak. Both were over cooked despite ordering them medium rare. Our son is not a picky eater, and he was considered a disney infant. He just ate a couple of bites of our food then promptly fell asleep with his head on the table. This is NOT normal behavior for him, and it was only day 2 of our trip. He was one of 3 table around us with sleeping kids (varying ages). I think the dimly lit restaurant caused them to pass out. It was quite adorable - especially considering we were dressed in our Dalmatian costumes for MNSSHP.

I would never tell someone not to experience the restaurant for dinner if you have a ressie. The pic with Beast was awesome, and it's worth experiencing the atmosphere. Just don't go in expecting it to be the best meal at Disney. I think our lowered expectation kept us from being disappointed.

Excellent summary and just adorable story. I could see all these infants and old people falling asleep in there lol. I kind of expected it to be like what you are saying, amazing atmosphere but food so-so. I kind of planned ahead to get this steak and mac and cheese that I saw on one of the food pic threads. Just hope the kids find something they like too :) If not, they skip eating there and we get them something from the parks once we leave. They'd be okay with that :)

The mussels appetizer is great. I go back just for that. We've eaten there 3 times, most recently a couple weeks ago. We always get the same thing - mussels appy, shrimp/scallops for me, lamb for my boyfriend. He loves the lamb. And of course cupcakes or grey stuff for dessert. I wish they had a salad with goat cheese or something of that sort because I would make a meal out of appetizers.

I was there with my son on September 28th. I loved the food, but it's all relative. I eat really healthy (and boring) at home, and I had eaten buffet food (not my favorite) all week so who knows :) But I had the steak and loved it, with the macaroni and cheese side - I had to make myself stop eating that - it was really good.

My son ordered the grilled cheese and French fries and he ate every bite. That's really not normal for him, so I'm guessing he liked it.

We ordered cupcakes but didn't eat them that night, so I can't really comment on them, but I did have a bite of the double chocolate one a few days later (refrigerated) and thought it was very good!

We also had lunch there and I liked that meal as well, though I only had 1/2 a turkey sandwich since I shared with my son. He ate the fries. But he was happy.

I say go for it just because the atmosphere in my opinion is amazing. And even though the CM's were super rushed for the Beast picture, it was still amazing to "meet" him. Very cool.

Hmmm, shrimp and scallops sounds good too!!!

My daughter and I ate there on October 2nd. It was great! We did have to wait about 30 minutes past our reservation. I got the salmon and it was delicious. I do not recommend the special dessert for Halloween, the blood orange creme puff. It was GROSS. I think you will be happy with your reservation. The atmosphere was wonderful. I love the dessert cart!

I am very interested in going here for the experience, too. My mom is a huge BATB fan and I'm hoping we can all go next year.

Your older kids could order off the children's menu if they really don't want anything from the regular menu.

I just posted on your other thread and I hope you have a great time.

1) Glad you want the "experience".
2) Because the food is simply average.
30 Different, maybe, but still just average in quality.

What made the Halloween cream puff gross? I was looking forward to trying it, but won't waste a chance to have the strawberry cupcake if the puff is that bad.

I went last December with 4 adults and 2kids. Everyone agreed it was the second best meal of our trip. The first was at Sanaa. I was also surprised it was not more expensive. We spent more at San Angel Inn.

I had a pork chop
SIL had steak
DW and DD had Shrimp &Scallops.
I don't remember what the kids ate.

Our waiter was fantastic, especially with the kids, treating them like princesses.

Maybe it was so good because the place was only 1/2 full when we went?

I wanna go!!! e have a lunch fast pass but haven't been able to get a dinner mainly because we booked out less than 6 months :( I assume!

My sister and I ate dinner at BOG last night.
I think we dined in the Rose Gallery? Whatever the room with the music box of Belle and the Beast dancing is called. I don't know. I wasn't paying attention when the host told us what it was called because I was letting everything process through my brain.

Our waiter was fantastic. He was really informative with telling us about the menu because we're both picky when it comes to the vegetables that come with entrees. She doesn't like greens and I don't like onions or tomatoes. So my sister ordered the strip steak with carrots & it came with fries. She loved it. I got the Pork Rack Chop with asparagus and it came with this Au Gratin Macaroni. I swear this macaroni should be an entree because while I thought the pork was great for some reason the macaroni just tasted FANTASTIC to me.

Both of us were cliche and ordered the Grey Stuff which was surprisingly good.

Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. Our reservation was pretty late (8:40PM) so it wasn't too packed. I would absolutely do dinner there again.

Is dinner any quieter or calmer than lunch? We went with a FP+ and I felt like I was eating in a very fancy cafeteria. We had trouble finding a table, lots of silverware clanging and noise, and boy were we packed in there. Is dinner a quieter experience?

Does anyone know If I can get the au gratin mac and cheese with the salmon? I wasn't sure if they do substitutes. Thanks !

I actually thought we might have trouble with what to eat here but everything everyone has mentioned sounds fantastic :)

The kids might even go for steak :)

We really enjoyed our dinner here. We had a great server. The tables were really closed together and our dinner felt a little rushed - I chalk that up to how popular it is and how many people they need to get in there. We waited for awhile to get in.

My fiance had the steak. He loved it. The fries were just OK, nothing special. He likes rather plan dishes though so he appreciated them both. I had ordered the NY Strip at the Yachtsman 2 days before - he said this was just as good.

I ordered the pork because nothing else was really appealing to me. The pork was great. It was really juicy and the jus for dipping was good too. The macaroni gratin was just ok. I'm not a big macaroni eater so my fiance gobbled most of it up, haha. I loved the veggies that came with my dish!

We both had the Grey Stuff for dessert.. amaaaazinggg.

We'll go back, but I'd like to try their lunch menu. Nothing on the dinner menu really was all that appealing, and I wasn't going to get the steak since my fiance ordered it and we had just been to the Yachtsman two days prior. I thought about the seafood puff pastry - I'd probably try that.

The shrimp and scallops is my favorite entree . Now DH and DD13 really like the braised pork while DD11 is in love with the chicken. We all like to get the french onion soup app and either the strawberry or lemon meringue cupcakes for dessert. We have dined there twice already (May was our last trip there) and DD13, DD11, I will be dining there again on our girls trip in March.

I was there for dinner this past May.

The overall experience was really cool and the service pretty good (given the size and popularity of the restaurant) but the food was a let down (french onion soup tasted like dishwater and the entree was so forgettable that I can't remember what I ordered).

For us, it was one of those things you do once for the experience.
