Be Our Guest Dinner at 4pm - Beast?

Hello! I'm trying to switch my BOG ADR in order to spend the day with friends who we just learned will be at Disney while we are there. We want to do Epcot together on 8/22 to include Illuminations but I have a BOG dinner reservation at 7:35. I just found one for the night before at 4pm so I grabbed it. In my haste to make sure I got it, I skimmed the fine print. I think I read that there are no characters during that time. I know 4pm starts the dinner menu. Has anyone seen the Beast going to dinner early? I'm hoping what I skimmed was the case since this dinner is not technically a character dinner. DD16 doesn't want to give up the BOG dinner to go to Illuminations unless I can reschedule it. 4pm actually works out since I'm considering a 10am Keys of the Kingdom tour on the 22nd. We just wouldn't eat a big lunch while on the tour. Thanks for your help!

Dinner at BOG starts at 4pm, so I don't see why the Beast wouldn't be there. When we went (before the pre fixe menu was introduced), we were told that we would meet the Beast after we finished our meal, but he also did a few walk-throughs in the dining area during our meal (I'm assuming to take his break).

Yes I had a 4:30 and Beast was there with photo op, perfect timing with dinner

I concur with previous posters. Dinner at Be Our Guest begins at 4:00, and the Beast greets during dinner times. You'll meet him after your meal, and he'll be in a room prior to the exit. At least one during your meal, he'll likely make his way through the dining areas, as servants announce his presence. It's a fantastic character meet and greet!

I was there in June w/a 4:00 seating and the Beast was there. Same as stated above, he walked around the dining room and was available near the lobby, for photos. There was a short line, to have pictures taken.

We had a 4:05 reservation on an MVMCP night and were first in line to meet the beast at 5:00pm when he came out for pictures. We were waiting in line for about 3 minutes before he showed up in the dining room.

I've eaten many times at 4pm and the Beast has always been there. He doesn't come out right at 4pm because you meet him at the end of your meal. By the time you're done eating he will be there to meet you.

I had a 4pm BOG last fall and the beast did not start meeting until 5pm. I ate a full dinner, my kids ate corn dog nuggets at Casey’s before and only tried all the BOG cupcakes. I guess since I started by ordering the cupcakes first, the server interrupted to let me know that even if we were just getting dessert the beast would not be out for an hour.

Thanks , Everyone! I am now psyched I got the 4pm time. I can now stop stalking changing this ADR and focus on gwtting a Slinky Dog FP instead!
