I was able to get a Breakfast reservation for my December trip. My friend and I will be going for breakfast while our husband's do the Steam Train tour. Neither of us are big breakfast eaters. Does anyone know if we order one kid's meal breakfast to share, does it come with the pastries? My normal breakfast is a granola bar and hers is also, but the early morning walk down Main Street is worth ordering breakfast as long as the park doesn't open until 9 am.

Yes 4 of us (adults) went and split a child's meal, coffee (we each had our own) and the CM brought us each a plate of pastries!

How did you each get your own coffee while ordering only one child's meal?

You can unless they change the rules. My guess is that for now they are going to rely on the $2 price increase on all breakfast meals to cover the cost of people doing this. I would expect you'll get one pastry tray, but no more than that.

But if you don't order a meal, they aren't free to anyone who comes in the door.

That was exactly the point of a post I made earlier. It seems like there are a ton of people "sharing" meals, but not paying for the additional drinks. If you don't order and pay for it, it's not there free for the taking. It seems like this is exactly what's going on, though.

I think you meant aren't *supposed to be* free.

This is the sort of thing I was thinking Disney might sort out before making breakfast permanent, but so far it appears they'd rather just up the menu prices than change their seemingly flawed system at BOG.

Just so everyone knows I was only asking about sharing a meal. We will each buy a drink. I just assumed drinks were extra from the very beginning. They are everywhere else and I don't see why Be Our Guest is any different.

BOG *is* different, though. From various reports, there is not the option to purchase an additional drink, unless you also purchase a souvenir cup priced at $16. The breakfast menu is prix fixe, which means the price of one drink is included in the price of one meal. I talked with someone on the phone today who recently returned from Disney, and she was told that they were not allowed to purchase "just a drink" while sharing a meal at BOG. Another poster in a different thread said the same thing.

I guess if we can't order an extra drink one of us will drink water. I will not take advantage of the drink situation. I drink water 90 % of the time anyway so it shouldn't be any big deal.

How did they each get their own plate of pastries? Most folks are getting one plate for 3-4 adults ordering full meals.

I simply don't understand how this restaurant continues to operate with no consistency. Prix Fixe but not really, pastries to share but how many per person all over the place, extra drinks or not, letting folks get multiple drinks (bottled and cup) and then those folks who share a cup. Prix Fixe means one price for all and all must pay.... but they aren't following through.

At some point the bean counters are going to put a stop to this and then what? Oh maybe keep raising the price, so in Oct when it becomes permanent it is going up to $21.99, so what will it be in January when that new prices come out? I wish they would fix this meal but then again 2.5 years later this restaurant still hasn't found it's groove. :upsidedow

4 Adults ate breakfast (split a meal, had pastries and coffee) for $11.99. Even if you don't eat much for breakfast, you should be ashamed for taking advantage of the system this way. A Disney breakfast is not $3 per person and people like you and yours cheating the system and taking free coffees and splitting a crust of a childs meal is what causes other diners to have to endure even higher prices. But you're entitled, right? That makes it ok, right?

I would have been utterly embarrassed, sitting there as 4 grown adults, pinching off a childs plate and sipping coffee I didn't pay for just because I had to eat at BoG.

If you can't eat much go to another restaurant, ask for a to-go container, or attend at lunch or dinner when you feel like eating more.

BOG breakfast pricing is very odd and confusing. It's a prix-fixe menu with pastry trays and drinks included in the price of the entree selections, but it's not AYCTE and Disney is allowing people to share meals. Non-bottled beverages are self-serve with cups available for anyone in the restaurant to use. I've seen reports of CMs telling people to get coffee/soda in addition to a bottled beverage, but is that really included in the price or not? Since the lunch menu is a la carte it's easy to determine if you paid for it, but for breakfast no one seems to know.

As long as Disney continues to allow it, there is no problem with what you want to do. Everyone ought to realize that you're not trying to break rules or get something for nothing and simply wanted to know if you would get a pastry tray. Just know that by the time you go a children's meal will reportedly run you $13.99 instead of $11.99. There is, I think, a problem with BOG breakfast in its current form, but that is for Disney to sort out or not as they choose.
