The
Signature Guidelines apply to everyone. While the mods on every board do a great job of following what is posted on their respective forums, there are some posts that can escape their sharp eyes. It is not as if anyone is being singled out or favored by the mods. Note that DIS smilies are not considered to be separate images, but using a smilie from another location is.
If you see a signature or post that you feel is in violation of any of the Signature or
Posting Guidelines, please feel free to use the little triangle with an exclamation point in the bottom left corner of the offending post. This will alert the moderators for that particular board and they can take the appropriate steps.
If you have any questions about whether your signature falls within the "legal limits", just ask on the
Tech Support Board. They can tell you for certain whether you're okay or will need to make adjustments. And they can walk you thru the steps on how to make those adjustments, if you need help.
If you want to check the size of an image in your signature, just right click on it and then choose "Properties" from the dropdown menu. A window will open up that displays the file type, web address, size and dimensions of the image. Image sizes are dsiplayed in width x height. File sizes are in bytes (not KB).
I hope this and the explanation provided by Knox will help clear things up for anyone who might be unclear about what is an allowable signature.
