Be careful when you leave the new gift in someone's room

If you are trying to surprise a friend who is afk with a present, make sure that you are in their room, and not someone else's room. KrazyLuke was kind enough to leave a present for me when I was afk in Disvaclub's room, making Disvaclub the owner of the present. KrazyLuke isn't on Disvaclub's list, but he is on mine, so Disvaclub figured the gift was for me, not her. I sent KrazyLuke a message, and he said it was intended for me. Disvaclub then had to trade the gift to me so that I could have my present from KrazyLuke.

So be careful when leaving a gift for someone who is afk. If they aren't in their own room when you leave it, it becomes the property of the room owner.

Another thought on being very careful where you drop presents - Please Please be careful not to drop them behind something, this could cause the room owner to have to take apart things if it is in the way. I dropped something behind my gingerbread house last night and had to take half of it down to get it and last year, dreams was building her ice castle and dropped something in the doorway behind the castle and no one could enter the room. She had to take everything apart to get to it. Please be careful where you drop it.

Yes, I learned from my little mistake and now I check the Owner of the room before placing any gifts done unless I give them randomly. Dis and Rolls both received gifts from me though in the end

Hi, To make it moveable did you have to put it down in your room first ?
Then it was technically your gift - did it let you make the gift tag to someone when you picked it up to give?
Am I overthinking this?

heh, I didnt actually try it. But I would assume you could mark it movable by simply putting it down in your room and not adding your message yet.
