Be careful what you ask about -- I got a billing surprise!

On the last day of our recent stay at CS, I called the front desk to ask whether our rooms would be available for another night if we decided we wanted to stay. I was told that they were available and that we would need to come to the front desk if we wanted to extend. I told the cm we would decide and come down if we decided to stay. We had a family meeting and decided to go on to the beach as planned. Imagine my surprise when I got my bank statement and saw I had a nice big charge for after we had checked out. I have so far been unable to get anyone from billing to return my call and the front desk person I spoke to was of limited help. She did tell me that I had been charged for my extra night, but was unable to tell me what the other $29 was for. I'm not very happy right now, and, unfortunately, had used my debit card, so the $ has been removed from my account.

Sounds fishy. If you didn't authorize the charge I'm sure they will credit your card. Be persistant.

You should also be able to dispute the charge with your bank - it just isn't as painless as with a credit card. I think there is a shorter time limit, though, so you might want to go ahead and file the form with your bank just in case and then keep pursuing it with the resort.

Call CRO and speak with Coy. I had a problem with my package payment and she called me 3 or 4 times to get the problem corrected.

I got a call back today. Was told that the $198.48 would be credited back to my card but that it probably would be a week since they do credits on Wednesdays. A little weird, but I can live with it. The other $29 was legitimate charges that we made our last evening -- they were not on our checkout bill b/c lightning hit the computer system.

It pays to check your bill... In 2001 we returned to WL late after an e-night and discovered that our keys didn't work. A trip to the desk later we discovered that the WL staff had moved our room and all of our stuff due to a maintenance problem. For the inconvenience the manager on duty offered to knock some money off of our bill. We argeed.

A couple of months later we got a letter in the mail from Disney's accounting department that said that an audit had reveiled that WL had actually CHARGED us the amount of the "credit". Disney automatically credited us the extra charge and then applied the original credit.

We make it a habit to stop at least once or twice during our stay to get a printout of your bill. I also stop the last night to get a copy because we always leave before the bill is on the door in the morning. That way I don't have to stop in the morning.

It wouldn't have helped the OP but a good practice.
