Hi all!

We are going to the World for my daughter's 4th birthday next April (4/28). This is an especially special trip, as we were supposed to go for her 3rd birthday and had to cancel after she was diagnosed with leukemia. She will still be taking daily chemo, but we think she will probably be well enough to go in April, and have the dr's blessings.

That being said, I would like to plan a birthday meal for her that will be special and fun. I think dinner is out, because she tires easily, and may be totally zonked by then. I was thinking lunch, but maybe breakfast.

The obvious meal to come to mind was Cindy's, but will we feel too rushed and not be able to enjoy it? If anyone has celebrated a birthday meal there, please share your experiences!

I am open to other suggestions too. She likes princesses, and also really likes Pluto. We don't need a place we can linger in, because her attention span for meals is really short (eat and done...), but I also don't want us to feel really rushed (beyond my three year old rushing us!). Also, she doesn't need tons of attention -- she's a little shy. I just want a place that will be enjoyable for her.

Thanks in advance!

Ann

Hmm...I just celebrated my birthday last week there. I have a 3 year old, so we did mostly character meals.

Cinderella's castle was nice. It was special. However, it was a little rushed. I mean, they brought out the lunch before we finished eating the appetizer. But it was special with the wishes and the wands, etc. And nothing like the castle. One thing we enjoyed about the castle, was we had the first lunch seating and were seated at the windows overlooking Fantasyland. DD had BBB before it. They brought me a signed card from the Princesses and a cake thing with a candle.

I really enjoyed Chef Mickey's for my birthday. They brought out 3 cupcakes during the dinner and they have this whole celebration thing in which Donald came over to give me my cupcakes. For breakfast there, they only gave me 1 cupcake but Mickey came over to help celebrate it. But it could be intimidating if she is shy.

Akershus was also really nice. More low-key, but still Princesses. I also got a signed card from the Princesses and a cupcake.

I hope your daughter's birthday is special! I'm sorry to hear about her leukemia, I hope she gets better soon.

Thanks for the quick feedback, Debbie.

What time was the first lunch seating at? Sounds like a good idea for my daughter....

I'm also beginning to think that maybe rushed is just fine with her. She really doesn't like to linger at meals. Just as long as something special is done!

Thanks!

Ann

I would suggest Akershus for breakfast. There are quite a few princess coming and going to hold her attention, the food is good and it's not horribly loud (Chef Mickey's is loud, but Pluto would be there)

Good luck and enjoy her birthday!
