Need a little help for ideas. Twins are turning 8 and I need to give the family present ideas. The boys are asking for things they already have. So far I have purchased Razor electric scooters for each from mom and dad.

I need some $25 - $40 ideas to give aunts, gramma, etc....
What are your 8 yr olds playing with? I feel like we are completely making the jump to big kid toys. Where did my little babies go??

Thanks for your input!pirate:pirate:

Legos, RC toy cars, nerf football, nerf guns, super soakers, pool toys if you have a pool, slip and slide, sports equipment.

My DS just turned 9 today. We got him two video games that he really wanted and his first real RC car (goes 30 mph!). He's had toy ones before but this one is a real good one. I can't control it, but he seems to have no problem with it, LOL!

Mine requested mighty beanz, hexbug, games for either their DS or Wii (they love all of the 'super mario' games) and a new bike because they outgrew theirs for their 8th bday last year.

ETA: after reading the previous post, I forgot lego's and nerf darts

legos, gogos, bike helmet, basketball, gift cards to book store, 5 Below, etc., science experiment stuff....

I have also found some neat stuff on Amazon (like a Sonic Screwdriver for my Doctor Who lover)...that could be an idea if one or both has a special hobby or interest.

I made the jump to telling family to just give cash when my daughter was about 8. While some may feel that is tacky, my family was thrilled to hear it because we don't live near them and sending cash is much easier for them than purchasing/sending a present! My daughter could then just use the cash for what she wanted, combining and adding to her own savings if she wanted a larger purchase, etc. So it was a win-win.

new helmets for the scooters
video games or gift cards to game stop (my son loves game stop b/c he can get used games for less $$$)
baseball cards with notebook and pae protectors
magazine subscriptions (like sports illustrated for kids)
nerf crossbow or basketball set
lego sets
drawing set (my son loves to make cartoons)
new bank with lock
journal for boys with a lock/key
spygear.

are a big hit here.. and maybe some $ for popcorn. Or a gc for bowling or mini-golf.. honestly I really try to avoid more "stuff".

Anyway, he's always loved lego, and now he and all his friends are obsessed with colored duct tape so he is getting rolls and rolls of it for his birthday.

Do they have ipods? My DS would also like an itunes gc.
He also enjoys having his own clock radio and CD player in his room, and there is always a new wii game he's intereted in.

We've just "upgraded" his blanket and curtain.. is there anything you can do to their room to make it older looking?

Have fun!

Our twin DS's turned 8 in March. I saw they are the yougest...which I understand! Boys! :lmao: Small legos would be good. Super hero stuff. Mine are all into Star Wars, Ironman, Superman, Spiderman, etc. Wii games are always cool. Ours are growing out of their Leapsters they have had. The next step up is a Nintendo DS....we found that has more possibilities for educational games rather than kick butt and kill everyone games.
Then gift cards and cash are always great. Mine think it's the bomb to get cash....more Disney money for vacation! :cool1:

no one is using the DS anymore.. the kids are going right to an itouch.

The games are much cheaper ($1-$3) plus it can do SOOOOO much more. My son earned his (long story) and absolutely loves it. I'm so glad we never spent the $ on a DS. (We did have a Leapsters that were well loved when they were younger.)
