My son will turn one tomorrow, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a cake for one? I know this sounds weird, but we arent really a big cake family and my daughter just had a bday on Friday, so we are all caked out. However, I want him to have his fun with his cake.
Any recipes or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My mom gets a carroy cake so his "cake" could just be his favorite dessert with a candle in it. But, you can buy a single layer cake or mini cakes at most grocery stores or bakeries now. Even ice cream cakes come small enough for just a couple pieces now. ETA: Check with your local grocery stores - some do a free 1st birthday cake that is a single layer (so even if throw away most of it you won't feel as guilty about it)
