BD cobb salad at Starring Rolls?

I saw on another thread that someone said you can order the Brown Derby Cobb Salad at Starring Rolls, even if it isn't on the menu. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, can you get the salad as a counter service credit on the dining plan? We are thinking of trying their sandwiches for lunch on our July trip, but the salad sounds really good. Any help is appreciated.

I don't know about that. I have never heard or seen that.

With the dearth of counter service options at DHS, Starring Rolls could become the most popular place in the Studios! I would go there regularly for the Cobb Salad. I have lunch ressies for BD for Cobbs 2x on my upcoming trip.

I just saw this today too and am curious! I can't remember, was it on the Food Porn Pictures Only thread? I would love to read about anyone's experience getting the Brown Derby Cobb Salad at Starring Rolls too.

I will be in WDW later this week and next, June 26-July 4. I wasn't looking forward to the CS choices at Hollywood Studios until I saw this! So, I will check it out. I will be writing a trip report and include food reviews upon my return. I have a link here in my signature to my pre-trip report and will continue my trip report in the same thread I think. Wanna know too. We just ate at BD last week to get the Cobb Salad for lunch with the TIW card. My GD loved it.

I asked if I could get the Cobb salad at starring rolls last year, aug 2008. They just looked at me funny and didn't know what I was talking about. I even asked if I could get the salad from Brown Derby through Starring Rolls... Still a blank stare and they just pointed to the case of what foods they had. So I left

I think your chances are pretty slim. There are only (usually) 2 people working in that little eatery and it would take some time for someone to go next door and get one for you. I did see one time where someone stated they had gotten the grapefruit cake, but I am sure that takes much less effort than making up a salad. You'd probably have a better chance asking the BD to do a to go...or just making a ressie and just getting the salad for lunch.

I got the funny looks this time as well, so no, I think it's just a rumor that you can get the Cobb Salad at Starring Rolls.

Too bad because I'd love to have the salad without doing the sit-down meal.

Another one here who has tried and was told no in no uncertain terms as she looked at me like I had lost my mind. I was also told no when I asked for the grapefruit cake there, not once, but twice.
