We have two nights booked at BCV for Dec. 7 and 8. We are waitlisted for the 9th. We've booked at POR just to make sure we have a room but would still like to be able to stay at BCV that last night. What are the chances we'll get the room?

Thanks

good luck. not sure what your chances are though. We've been on the waitlist since the exact 7 month mark for either BWV or BCV for the same dates and then some. We're not banking on it. We are already booked at SSR though.

Last year our waitlist came through at the 30 day mark. You still have time.

We're waitlisted for a 2BR either BCV or BWV for the whole of Dec. 1-8 - want to be closer to Epcot for FiL who had hip replacement, since we'll probably got there quite a bit that week, and we booked them for two Epcot tours. We're booked at SSR anyways, so no big deal if we don't get it - I won't mind a nightly stroll over to Pleasure Island...

The theory is that a lot of the big renters grabbed reservations at the 11-month mark because its in prime DVC time, and if they aren't able to rent the reservations, they'll cancel 31 days out to keep the points out of holding - so there are often a lot of waitlist hits at 30 days.

I'm really hoping for that. we're waitlist for either a studio or 1bdr at either BWV or BCV for the dec 6-9 and then a 2bdr for dec 9-14. I did read that on another post about the renters giving the ressies back at 31 days out. Now I can be a little more optomistic about it. It's not that big of a deal, we're happy with being close to PI.

I didn't realize that dvc members booked in the hopes of renting out their points to non-members. That kind of stinks for those of us actually wanting to go during that time. I booked a 1 BR at BCV b/c it's all that's available. I couldn't even get a studio at SSR, which is our home resort. Since I'm borrowing points for next year, I can't cancel unless I can use my points before my use year date, which isn't likely. I wanted a studio but took the 1 BR since it was all that was left. Now, even if a studio becomes available, I would lose points since the 90 it took for the 1 BR weekend would still be more than 3 nights in a studio. The only way I could go down to a studio now, if one were available, would be to lengthen my stay which isn't possible with work. That being said, I will still spend the larger number of points for the last night at BCV b/c I don't want to have to move, so I'm still hoping for the waitlist.

I am on the wait list for BWV for 9/19-9/26, since June and nothing. I am hoping that something will come through, however MS said that chances are very slim.

DH and I even looked into buying points via a transfer to move hotels from OKW to either BCV, BWV, WL and nothing is even available.

Buying points (via transfer) in one of those places wouldn't do any good at this point - its inside 7 months, so all points are equal. Plus there is the whole thing about transferred points not retaining home resort (did that ever get fixed?)

Not sure why the lack of rooms at that time - it's the week before F&W...

I wanted to do a point transfer this way I could have the option to stay at another resort. I only have 226pts for 2007 & 2008 use year, so I was going to buy transfer points so I could stay at WL, BCV or BWV (preferred view) which is 270 pts. I figured it would help me transfer out of the OKW faster than waiting for my wait list of a standard room at BWV to come through.

I am really nervous about staying at OKW, we have not stayed there in 13 years and then it was horriblly long bus drive and so far out of the way, in comparison to WL that we have stayed at for the past 9 years.

Ah...I was confused because you said you were already waitlisted at BWV - I presume for the standard view which is cheaper, but you need more points for anything else...

Yes, I would need 44 points to move up a level in the BWV (which has more preferred rooms than standard rooms) and since WL & BCV do not have standard views it would be 270 pts.

When I called on Sat, when they opened, they did not have any rooms available anywhere. I have no idea what is going on, "BUT" since everyone (but DVC) was offered a free dinning plan there are more people on property. Plus in Sept they reduce available rooms too.

This too is my first time in a 2bd, and it appears that I need to utilize my 11-7 month windo to insure a room. Otherwise I will be at OKW more than I would like.

I was waiting for a studio on the 9th at BC and it came in last week. We did book a studio for cash at the BC (about 310) just in case.
