I know BCV is hard to get anyway, but if going on a wait list are there certain UY that are clearly harder to get than others?

Seems like Sept-Oct have had the longest wait list.

Just a rather unscientific observation that when looking at the list of people who are or were on the waitlist, that the longest waits tended to be for Sept-Oct UY's.

we have an Oct UY, didn't have problem adding @ BW couple years ago

i specifically wanted either Oct/Nov/Dec for banking windows based on our summer trip in June...now, i wish i had waited for Nov.;)

not sure if i remember correctly, is Oct sold out @ AKV?popcorn::

Since BCV is a "sold out" resort I would assume it has more to do with timing than UY unless some UY have more points than others?

We have an April UY and just recently added on and took one week for our points to come through. I was also told by our rep that it is easier to get add ons during or around your UY (not sure why this is) and obviously in smaller amounts. We added on 50 points but got it in 2 25 point contracts.

I hate to piggyback on this topic, but I had some related questions.

My wife says the only way for us to get DVC is by buying BCV. We only want to do direct from Disney though so we know we will be on a waiting list which is fine for us.
My questions are 1) How long can we expect to be waiting on average?
2) How do we even get on the waiting list? Do we just go through our guide?

Thanks and again I aologize for hijacking the thread a bit.

Patrick.

Have you looked into buying resale?

Have you looked into buying resale?

We have looked into buying resale, but as a comfort level thing, we are much more comfortable buying right from Disney. Maybe we just are still learning how it works, but it seems to be easier right through Disney.
Just a personal preference for us as we feel in the long run and short run it would be easier for us to deal with Disney directly.

It is easier, if only for the fact that you can make reservations as soon as you put down your deposit, and there's no waiting for ROFR and closing.

When we bought BCV through Disney, we were able to go with any use year since we weren't members, and were able to get our contract (160 pts) within 24 hours. We booked our first trip to BCV the next day. :thumbsup2

I have a Dec Use Year and it only took me a few days to get 100 points from Disney....about 4 months ago....Elyse

That is true, but you can save some big $$$ buying resale.
And if you use any of the companies frequently listed here, you should have piece of mind as well.

What ever works best for you!

You won't be sorry!

A good many of the posts you are written are from owners who purchased resale. I urge you to reconsider. You can even save some money. When you buy resale you get the same member benefits as going through Disney. Your welcome package and materials come to you directly from Disney.

We purchased our initial 100 point contract through resale (TTS) then added on directly through Disney. Since it is a much longer wait to get bigger contracts for BCV through Disney it will save alot of time going the resale route for the first contract at least.

It wouldn't have saved us any time. As I stated above, we had our 160pt contract within 24 hours. That wouldn't have happened via resale. We'd still be holding our breath waiting on ROFR instead of making ADRs for our trip to BCV.

Different strokes for different folks. ;)

I just added on 69 points at BCV. (that's what was available for my UY). I got it in two contracts and it only took one day to go through. My guide called me yesterday to say I could call MS to make ressies on those points now. I want to add on more but I will have to waitlist for the rest.

We are in the estoppel phase of buying BCV at GMAC. We passed ROFR for $84 a point. I originally was working with Disney...it was $104 a point. We saved around $5400! Smaller contracts don't make that much difference...large ones do!!

Wowee!!! What use year? The contracts up for resale over the last few weeks seem to be pretty stripped, but I guess for $20 less a point, it's worth it. Maybe I am just being too picky!!! Maybe I don't need to wait for my ideal use year.... Oh, I don't know! Now, DH is requesting me to look into other timeshares! :scared: I guess he's thinking if we want to go ther places sometime, which, maybe we would...oh well, I'll start a new thread on this & let's not discuss this here!

Good luck and pixie dust to you on estopple--not that I know what that is, really. :cheer2:
