BCV...Waitlist....and "New" Inventory???

We are waitlisted for 3 nights of a 7 night stay 18Oct - 25Oct in a studio at BCV. Does it seem fairly realistic that between then and now that a decent amount of new sales should occur and that those sales will release "inventory" that will become available to members for point usage....thus, increasing our chances of having our waitlisting filled.

I know that this is a small resort but I liked our chances of waitlisting there instead of, say, BWV or VWL, where you are relying on cancellations only because the properties are sold out.
Is it correct to assume that we have 2 things working in our favor at BCV....new sales and possible cancellations?

Any thoughts or information would be appreciated.

You are going during a popular time, but it's still 4 months out, so I would think that your chances of getting a studio at BCV are pretty good. I hope you have back-up ressies just in case, though. They are always getting cancellations, especially as the time gets closer, so don't start worrying yet. Now, if you were going in two weeks, as I am, I would worry alot--my grand villa didn't come thru, and my chances of getting one now are very slim, but I have studios reserved as a back-up, so I'm not stressed. Disappointed, but not stressed. I have beds for everyone, so no complaints.

I was in the same problem, except I was trying to get days before July 4th. I waitlisted back in January, and made ressies for two weeks later. I thought the same as you, new inventory has to open up more rooms, etc. But to no avail, I got shut out. We're going the week of July 14th now. So, it might happen, but I'd make a back-up plan just in case.

Since DVC has already announced that BCV is 90% sold, I expect that all rooms have already been declared into inventory and that you will be dependant on a cancellation to fill your needs.

To answer your question though, I expect you will still have a good chance of the waitlist coming through for your October stay.

If it is at all possible......did you try altering your trip dates somewhat to see what is available w/o the waitlist? The reason I ask is, I just booked BCV for Sept and BWV for Nov and just by changing the days to the following week I was able to get both resorts with no problem at 3 mos out at BCV and 5 mos out at BWV.

We too are waitlisted for that period at the BCV. The F&WF is very popular with DVC members. Hve an OKW ressie for backup and I do love it there.

Us too! We have been waitlisted for a studio at either BCV or BWV for around a month now for Oct 18-24th. There was no studios available for any of the 6 nights we wanted at either resort. I went ahead and reserved a studio at OKW just in case nothing came through at either BCV or BWV. Hope you have a backup.

Sounds like we are all in the same boat for the week of Oct. 19 - 24. We too are waitlisted for a studio at BCV. Have booked OKW just in case, but this will be our first trip home and would have really liked to stay at our home resort. It is my own fault though. I thought I would be able to wait until next year to go back as a member, but the DVC bug has definitely bitten me. So, I too will be crossing my fingers for a BCV studio. But, look at it this way, we can all hook up at OKW for a DIS meeting if we all end up there.

I am waiting for a 1br at BCV the night of 10/26 to fill in my ressie for 10/25 to 10/31. I have all the others.......I made back-up at BWV for all those nights. I'm also waitlisted for a studio at either resort for 10/23 and 10/24. I have offsite ressies if they don't come in. (you can see by my sig that I'm hopeful )

Anyone know when they declare into inventory - i.e. once they have the signed docs or at closing?

I'm wondering if, with the Fairytale Vacation offering, that maybe they aren't periodically releasing CRO inventory as early as they usually do and might free some up after that promo is done on June 30th.
