BCV vs BWV - anyone care to weigh in?

I'm renting points for a 4-night trip with 2 of my girlfriends and my girlfriend's mom. She requested that we stay at a resort within walking distance to a park, and everyone agreed that one in the Epcot circle makes the most amount of sense for us. BWI standard view is about 30 points cheaper for us, so it would save us some money, but we didn't want to choose based on price alone.

I will be staying at both hotels this summer, but we need to reserve before I travel. (Plus, I'll be staying in the hotels, not the villas, so I realize there's a difference between my room vs. the villas...)

Thoughts?

I have been to both and my pick is BC. I like the pool(s) better and layout is mostly indoors for the rooms, resturants and to me it feels more relaxed and homey. I like the resturants and food choices better. It's closer to Epcot and we go there the most. I like the room decor better. The layout of BW seems more spread out for some reason. Plus if it's raining, you never have to get wet walking around. Love it.

We have stayed at both, and either are a great choice IMHO.

Views are better at BWV, but you said you're talking BWV standard view so that's probalby not an issue.

The actual rooms were much nicer at BWV, but that's probably bc they had just finished a refurb (Jan 2010) when we stayed there.

SAB beats the Clown Pool for kids and if you plan on logging some time actually in the pool itself. If you're a party of adults or just want to lounge with a cold drink from the pool bar, then BWV would be fine. :beach:

The walk to Epcot is shorter from BCV, but not enough to make or break the deal.

I like the vibe at BCV better, and we always enjoyed the Solarium and Breezeway for hang out time or while grabbing a snack from the Marketplace. But grabbing a snack or slice of pizza and hanging out on the BW is fun too.

OP, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice....don't fret over it bc they are similar in many ways and it's a quick walk between the two. You can't lose with either of these two resorts:thumbsup2

If you are planning to walk to both DHS and Epcot, BWV is more centrally located. BCV is a little closer to Epcot than BWV, but much farther from DHS.

As far as the units themselves, they are very similar, just different colors in the decor. The layout and size are virtually identical.

I have found the walk at BCV to be nearly as long as the walk at BWV if you are in one of the villas at the far end of the hall.

I don't spend time at the pool, so that doesn't factor into my decision. But there are people who don't like the clown at the BW pool - if that's an issue for you. The BW pool just finished a big renovation about a week ago (while I was there actually) - but the clown is still there.

You can't really make a bad decision between them.

The rooms are about equal in size and layout. The walk from the elevators to your room at Boardwalk can be quite far depending on room location. I'm not a huge fan of having to go out on the Boardwalk to get breakfast or a snack. I know they're redoing the Bakery, and I haven't been there since so I can't comment on that.

I like the Beachclub's pool better and I feel like the rooms are closer to the main lobby where the QS food, store, etc. are located.

Thanks for the awesome feedback!

If we can get a BCV with two queens in the second bedroom, I think our decision will be settled. If we can't, though, do you think it just makes sense to save some cash and go with BWI? (It's a difference of more than $350.)

We've stayed at YC before, so I know that SAB is great (and the clown is creepy :clown:), but I'm just as happy being at a quiet pool. And since we're going in December, there's a chance we might not have pool weather unless the temperatures are above average. (Average temp is 73--for me, that's not warm enough to swim.)

The rooms at BWI are more recently refurbished, too, right?
