We had a canal view studio, and it was soooo lovely. It was very near the end of the hall that has the stairway going down to the parking lot. Our room was 276, and we would take that studio every time if it was offered. I meant to call down because there was writting on the coffee table, just a child's scribbling, but I forgot. We both did try the "new sort of" sofa bed, and think that it would do to sleep on, the Q was very comfortable, to our liking.
BCV offers many activities, including night movies and campfires on the beach. They give you a schedule and point out the offerings when you check in. All of the CM's that we encountered were pleasant, Dee Dee checked us in.
In VB we had OV room 2319, very nice view of the ocean. We didn't try for the turtle walk lottery because we did have other plans at night. On Wednesday, we went back to EPCOT and joined up with another DVC family and their guests for an Illuminations cruise! Wow!!! What's better than just walking back to BCV after Illuminations? Just being able to sit with an unobstructive view watching them, and then being driven back to the dock in no crowds!! We "found" this family on the Theme Park Boards, and it's the second time that we were lucky enough to be on a specialty cruise. Last year we joined a family (also an OKW, buy in during the early '90's family) for a Wishes cruise!
We tried Squid Lips for the first time, and returned for dinner the next night as well. Delicious crab-lobster cakes. "Trilogy" was entertaining when we went on Thursday, and we would go back there again and again. We had been disappointed with Capt. Hirams in March....that was our usual off site restaurant, and I'm glad we branched out. We ate lunch at Shutters one day and I really enjoyed the grilled Mahi-mahi sandwich, would get it again. Another lunch was pizza from Orchid Pizza which we liked, we've had it before.
We walked along the beach. The ocean was a beautiful color, a blue green associated with the Caribbean. There were waves. It beckoned me, but I'm just a bit chicken now, the waves could topple me, but wait until next year...I'm going to borrow the arms of my DS's 33 and 30, and let them take me in! DH says I don't "trust" him, not so...I do, but he hates the ocean, can't get the idea of the inhabitants out of his mind, and I have always loved to swim in the ocean.
We took the Treasures of Vero Beach walk with CM Matt around the resort one evening. He pointed out the reasons why VB Resort looks as it does. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. We also did go to Sebastian Inlet State Park to visit the Treasure Museum. Admission is only $1 per, and it has an excellent movie presentation telling exactly why that area is called the Treasure Coast. That also helped us appreciate the things that Matt was saying about how Disney incorporated Treasures into the resort.
If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer what I can.

PS. We came back with our names on a waitlist for BCV points. We both love the resort, I've been willing to take my chances on a once a year visit, but DH can't wait to bring the family. On site, VWL is our first, common love, but BCV comes in closest second for DH, and he's the force behind this potential purchase. We've asked for 100, but Michelle suggested we ask for 25 - 100 and get them as they come in.
