Just thought I would post a positive review for the Beach Club. We've just returned from an extended stay (due to Hurricane Jeanne). We were in room 453. Received our Welcome Home at check-in. The room was in good shape. We had 4 wonderful days in the parks. Checked out Saturday and went to MGM because we had confirmed 3 times that our 6:00pm flight was still good. Airport closed at 3:00pm. Beach Club found us 2 double rooms in the main building and gave us the Florida resident rate for both Saturday and Sunday night. During both Saturday and Sunday all the cast members were exceptional. While my personal favorite is still VWL, I give the Beach Club high marks for member services. They made our first trip home wonderful! We will definitely stay here again.

Can't wait for our next trip home!

I'm glad you had such excellent service, and such a wonderful time at the BCV!

BCV is one of my home resorts and I was very happy to hear a positive report. Thanks....

Glad to hear another of another happy camper at BCV. We're looking forward to our next stay there in a few weeks.

Glad to hear that BC was able to help you out at the last minute. To me it sounds as if WDW was really doing a great job of helping their CMs and guests in very trying circumstances for all in the last 6 weeks.

Great to hear! I love the BCV, and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit. Actually, I love almost everything Disney.

Oh dear.

After hearing some bad reports from BCV we switched our ressies to OKW but then I read about Doc's experience there and switched to SSR and then I looked at some old reports talking about how far away everything is so I switched to BWV but then I read about the smokey room problem there and switched to VWL but now my wife tells me my mother-in-law is allergic to tacky redwood decor.

Do you think I should try and switch back to BCV?

What? How can you switch again? It's your mother in law your talking about. You should buy a VWL add on and do over your own house in "tacky redwood".

Brilliant!

Now that's the BCV I know and love!

I can't believe that some folks actually change thier reservations just because someone on these boards posts a negative report. You've got to try things yourself and form your own oppinion.

Maybe my family isn't as picky or negative as some folks are, but we've loved every place we've stayed at WDW. We're not the type to let the little things bother us either. A couple years ago when we were getting ready to stay at AKL folks on the RB was complaining about the buses. I got a little concerned but didn't switch, and when we arrived we couldn't believe anyone would think that the buses were slow. From then on, I read the negative along with the positive posts, but I don't let them get to me.

And remember before Pop Century opened how everyone made fun of it. It was a Disney failure before it had even opened according to many. Now it's the "in" value to stay at.

You just can't take anything said on these boards too seriously. Not even this post of mine, form your own oppinions.

Thanks for the post - glad you had a great trip and that WDW was so accomodating for you when you were stranded!

rinkwide and HB Cat - too funny!!!!!!

No...just send your mother in law to the BCV. Sandie

We were there 9/19-9/26 (well, 9/27).

We checked in at 11 am and the room wasn't ready. Oh well, we headed to the parks. At 3:30, we called and our roomwas ready 344/346 (for a 2-bedroom lock out). We checked in and 346 smelled like an old ashtray. I am really senistive to smells, so my dh called the front desk and they checked for like 5 minutes, but there were no other rooms available. They said that they could come down with some spray, but my dh explained that, being sensitive to smells, that would possibly be even worse.

The front desk's response was to the effect that " oh well, it's non-smoking and there's nothing we can do." They did offer to send housekeeping up wwith an ionihat would take 1 hour and clear the air. When she showed up an hour later with air freshner spray and sprayed it before I could stop her, I explained that the smell seemed to be concentrated at the door, right where the air conditioner system was located. Perhaps it was the filter problem?? So she called engineering, who came up 10 minutes later with the wrong replacement filter. I told them that we were headed to illuminations and to feel free to come back while we were gone.

In the end, the small was gone by the end of the next day, so maybe it was an old filter. My only complaint was why would the room smell smoky when it was clearly designated non-smoking in the first place. And why it there a pervasice sense of "who cares" among the staff these days? It is Hurricane weariness?

Even at the parks, there seemed to be a un-Disney like attiutude that my dh and I used to joke about at Universal (we used to hear something or experience something at Universal and comment how that would never happen at WDW).

It didn't ruin my vacation, but it did make we wonder - what happened to that old Disney attitude?
