I just got back from a split stay between the two, and I thought I'd post the differences I noticed.
1. BCV had a little shelf as you walk in, real handy place for your room key.
2. Sharp "lip" on the slider at AKV. I'll bet you could really stub your toe or hurt your foot if you didn't see it.
3. The bed at BCV LOOKED a little bigger-I don't know if it was
4. The microwave I had at AKV was the oldest I've ever seen-
5. All those pillows at AKV were really kind of a pain, trying to find a place out of the way to put them
6. At AKV, the bathroom light and fan were on one switch, so that when you turned on the light, the fan automatically went on. At BCV they ran independently
7. With the addition of Kidani Village, Mara was really overwhelmed at meal times
8. There was a closet at BCV, but a wardrobe at AKV in my value studio which had less than 1/2 the storage space
Now the AKV pros-
1. Two sinks in the vanity area
2. I was fortunate enough to get a lovely view of the Sunset Savannah. At BCV, I overlooked the road and couldn't comfortably use my balcony with all the road noise.
3. The TV at BCV was behind doors and it didn't slide out, so when you were sitting on the couch, sometimes you had limited viewing and the remote didn't always work well. At AKV, the TV was like this-
4. At AKV, there were two lights, one on each side of the bed, which were controlled independently. So it was easier for one person to have his light out and sleep, while the other person stayed up and read.
5. The number of food offerings at Mara were much better than at BC Marketplace. Every time I go to BCV, they seem to be offering less and less in the Marketplace. Even the CMs there agreed with me-"They said they were taking out the gelato area so they could enlarge the bakery offerings, but then they didn't!" And now they've taken away the roast beef and brie sandwich.
6. Did I mention that awesome view? Here are just a few pictures of my view at AKV-
It's a good thing I brought extra batteries for my camera. I kind of got carried away.
