Hi-just back from BCV & SSR!
We were at BCV from 10/12-10/15 and SSR from 10/15-10/22
First BCV - we arrived about noon time and checked in - 2 bdr was not ready. We hung out at the the pool and lobby until about 3:30 when we were able to get into the room #167. Nice room - it was clean - did not notice if anything was missing. Not crazy about location as the first night I was so tired that I was asleep before 9 p.m. and when illuminations started - the big bangs woke me up and the service road outside our room kepted me awake most nights as we live at home in the woods with very little traffic noice. Kids enjoyed what they saw of it as we were always on the go. Ate lunch at Beaches & Cream and had the Kitchen Sink late Wednesday night - they enjoyed that! Our 2nd time staying there with first in a studio back in February 2003.
Now onto SSR. Wonderful resort - loved the main pool & food. Room was great had a view of pleasure island - room #1635. When I check in they stated room had a garden view and not sure which one I would get as it was not ready at noon again. The girl who waited on us was not familiar with the resort as she was filling in from BWV and stated that when I made my reservation-I should have requested the room view and the points would have been more for a preferred room. I don't think this is right as MS never asked which room I wanted when I made the reservation. Shorter wait to get in the room and the Kids enjoyed the pool & hot tubs more than at BCV. I was shocked when I went to ck to see if room was ready that we had such a great view without the request. Could see the fireworks from our bedroom window. Everything was in order in the room. Liked the pots and pans they had. Wish they had the cleaning solution for the flat-top range. The cement walks were noisy and it was hard to keep the kids quiet going down the halls. Too many doors leading to the main bathroom - gets confusing during the night with only the light from the blowdryer leading the way. The fans were not really a bother and felt I was on some kind of a ride with the glowing green light and the fan going at the same time - especially in the middle of the night and no other lights on. I did not get to try the jacuzzi out - boo hoo! Loved the large shower. Only complaint were the busses. We had to wait at least a half hour with once was 35 minutes for an MGM Bus - 1st day at parks - was not happy. Bus Drivers weren't overly friendly. Only had one that was real talkative and really enjoyed him. Come to think of it - I never received a welcome home at SSR. Not a big deal. I really like SSR better than BCV - we own at both. My husband likes BCV better. We are already planning our next trip for 2006 as we borrowed our points for 05 for the 2 bedroom and friends to stay on property with us. We fell in love the the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I think we will be staying there next time. Any questions, please feel free to ask away.
Thanks!
