BCV sofabed vs bringing an Aerobed

We will be going to the BCV soon :goodvibes and I have read that the pullout sofabeds are not very comfortable. I am trying to decide whether the sofabed will be ok for my DD10 and DD7 or if I should go to the trouble of bringing an aerobed. We will be flying so I am guessing I would need to bring it as a carryon. We'll be in a 1 bedroom. If I bring a fullsized Aerobed is there enough floorspace? TIA!

The mattress is terrible. We call down for an egg crate which does help. I think it is ok for the kids. My 11 and 9 year old did ok on it but they strongly prefer the pullout at OKW which is remarkably comfortable. Since you are flying and your kids are young, I wouldn't bother with the aerobed.

Some of the mattresses have been replaced, but if you want to bring an aerobed, just put it right on top of the one on the sofa bed. A full size fits perfectly!:thumbsup2

We always just bring the blow up bed. We just stand it against an out of the way wall. Gives us the sofa to set on and walking room.

We were just at BCV for Christmas & the kids slept on it. It appeared to be the new sleeper & the kids said it was comfortable.

Did you also notice if the your bed was new? I have a really bad back that is flaring up right now and a bad bed can kick the pain up quite a few notches and start a really bad spell. Makes me nervous...The kids are really counting on trying out BC since we've never been...We're going in 2 weeks. Thanks for any update.

Could you switch the mattresses between the real bed and the sleeper sofa? Put the sleeper mattress on the queen box spring, hoping the additional support of the box spring will make it more comfy, then put the full mattress on the sofa frame, hoping the thick mattress will hide the lack of a solid base. I dunno- just made that up and it sounds like some work to do, but the results might be worth it. Has anyone tried it?

In October, we used a single blow up bed for my adult son. It fit perfectly in the kitchen of the 1 bedroom. Since he tends to be a late riser (and we wanted our coffee:rotfl: ) we ended up placing it in the entry hall-no problems!

Thanks for all the responses everyone! It would be great to know in advance whether we would be lucky enough to have a room with a new sofabed but I guess it is the luck of the draw. Sounds like some of the older sofabeds were ok but some were terrible. I'm thinking an Aerobed makes sense just to be on the safe side. Counting the days until we go!

My dad (68) slept on the pullout in Oct for a week. He didn't complain about it at all and it was an old one.
