Our first on-site vacation at WDW is coming up in just over a month!! We (me, hubby, sons (4 &1) and my parents) are staying in a dedicated 2 bdr at BCV. So I knew (from spending enough time here on the DIS) that requesting a specific room number is not a good idea when making a reservation. My only requests were to not be on first floor, non-handicapped, and non-smoking. But if we are given a choice at check-in ("you are in this room here, or we also have this room available" - which I have read has happened to people), I won't know which one is better. So... if you have stayed in a dedicated 2bdr at BCV and loved your room (whether it be because of the condition of the room, view, location to elevators, etc., please give me the room number and what you loved so much about it. That way, if given a choice, I will be an informed DISer and be able to pick a great one! Thanks so much! :sunny:

BCV's assigns their villas ahead of time unlike some of the DVC resorts such as OKW who utilize "room ready". So you will most likely get a villa at check in that was assigned well ahead of time. To give you an idea....we stayed for 9 nights at BCV's last Sept. over hurricane Jeanne. I was crossing my fingers hoping that we'd end up with a semi-good location as we checked in on Fri.night around 7:30pm and I figured that with all the re-arranging because of extra bookings and cancellations that our chances wouldn't be good as to where we ended up with checking in so late. Well....low and behold, we ended up with a great location...all our requests had been met ahead of time and I expressed to the CM checking us in how relieved I was and she said "your room was blocked off well ahead of time". I later found out that it's because BCV's assigns their rooms well in advance:) OKW on the other hand utilizes "room ready" where they basically give you the choice of what is ready and available at check-in. If you check in before 4pm (official check-in time for DVC)...if there are rooms available, they will give you a choice of rooms in the catagory you've booked and that may or may not fit your requests. (if you check in earlier than 4pm they give you a choice of "these are what's available right this minute or you can wait until 4 and we can put you here"). In any case, since BCV's doesn't utilze "room ready" you will most likely be given a room assigned prior to checking in so put your requests in when you book;)

As for good locations....the views are pool view, courtyard, and epcot (though from what I hear you can no longer request Epcot view :scratchin). We've had all 3 at one point or another and liked our 3rd floor 1bdrm villa with pool view the best so far -- followed by the courtyard view studio on the 2nd floor we had once. Didn't much care for the 5th floor studio we had with the Epcot view as there was alot of noise from the service road that it also overlooks and didn't really see the fireworks from our balcony because we were always in the park to see them. FWIW too, we didn't have any trouble with noise from the pool view... but we may have just had more considerate neighbors that trip. I'd just put in your most important requests like "non-smoking" or "near the elevators" or whatever. Most locations are pretty good at this resort I'd say.

HTH's

Someone once wrote about an Airiel view. Does anyone know what that is?

Thanks,

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but I have a quick question. Does a 2-bedroom villa at BCV have one or two bathrooms. Maybe I'm just not reading carefully enough, but the Disney website seems unclear on this. They highlight the fact that the master bedroom has a 2-person spa bathtub, but they don't specifically mention anything else.

Are there two bathrooms? Do both have tubs or showers? Any description would be appreciated.

The Ariel view is of the courtyard between the villas and the Beach Club resort. There is a statue of her in the courtyard.

The 2 bedroom has a master bath that has a jacuzzi tub and a walk in shower and 2 sinks.

The 2nd bedroom bath is similar to the baths in the deluxe resorts, with a vanity with double sinks and a tub/shower combo.

Since this is a DVC resort I would not get too carried away with resorts as they do not assign rooms like the nonDVC resorts. As suggested I would go with general requests and always remember nothing is guaranteed.
